Big Cypress National Preserve

Irmi and Steve treated us to another mini GTG here at Wandering Oaks with Sarah and I, while Liz drive over from her park to join us. Over all it has been a busy day. I got the first loads of laundry done this morning then cam back and bathed two dogs, which meant that I had another load of laundry between dog towels and Stuart's dog blanket. BUT, here is the last of the Everglade adventures and I am ready for bed. Tomorrow, will be plenty of time to start planning the next adventures.

Yes, it is too cold up north - stay in the warmth. We'll let you know when spring has arrived & its safe to return home. Until then take us where ever you'd like -we're enjoying the ride!

I think they make up some of these stories. It explains why the called is Shark Valley then but it doesn't explain why they thought to name things after the story. from your blog about the name of Shark Valley? I think

We were camp hosts at a campground in Island Park ID by the name of Upper Coffeepot...why the name first no lower? never did understand that but we were up river from Coffeepot falls or rapids the 'story' went that some time in the early known history of the area a trapper capsized his canoe going over the falls he lost everything but you guessed it his coffeepot hence the name of the falls and later the campground
names stick around even if we moderns don't understand the reasoning behind it
enjoyed the blog looks like it was indeed a interesting place to visit
you might go see if you can find Sparkles white peacocks if you are looking for something to do she did enjoy some out of the way lovely campgrounds

I spent 6 days in that campsite and loved it, even if I had no cell phone coverage. Did have data, however. Nice sites and very friendly camphosts.

You took a lot better photos than I did, however. I did not tackle that drive, but maybe another time. SO many birds along U.S 41!

Really have enjoyed your photos and the comments. Amazing to climb the tower, look down and realize there are gators everywhere, including a few feet off the tram road. I have seen gators slithering into water and swimming away, but never walking across the road.

It will be fun to see photos from your next stop.
