Good morning everyone. I write this parked in front a bay at Alliance RV. The HissyFIT was supposed to have a base plate and braking system put in yesterday. After checking in early yesterday morning for my appointment, around 4 yesterday afternoon, I checked to find out how much longer. I was told then that they had only just started the work and there was no way it would be ready by 5, when they close. I was not a happy camper. They went and got the service manager for me. We went into an office. I am sure that was so if I went to yelling, the other customers would not hear. I explained how unhappy I was. I was expecting my car to be ready as promised yesterday afternoon and had made plans according to that. I also explained I did not want to have to back into my CG site more than one more time. It is a very tight fit for me because there is a big power box right in front of my site that I have to jockey my rig past. The service manager said he would put me up here and promised my car would be ready no later than 11 this morning. He told me they had had 11 service techs out sick last week and were really backed up on their appointments. I told him had they called me to reschedule, I would not have had a problem with that. I definitely had a problem with sitting in their lounge all day only to find out they had only done the beginning work on my car. I would not have know that if I had not asked what the status was on my car. I explained I knew the base plate and braking system could be put in in one day because that was how long it had taken on the jeep. He said the tech had been pulled off to do another job. That definitely did not make me happy.
I drove Paul back to the CG in the rig. I stopped to say Hi to Wendy and Sarah, then back to Alliance RV. When I got back, the service manager met me with more bad news. He had only just looked at my work order. He thought I had only ordered a base plate. He said with the braking system I had also ordered, it would not be ready until the end of today or possibly tomorrow. He then went on to tell me if I rented a car, they would take that sum off my bill. They would have someone drive me to the car rental place. They would also substantially cut my bill back.
After I got my slides out and settled in a little bit, I poured myself a glass of wine. I just had to laugh at the situation. HissyFIT is definitely living up to her name. I can have a hissy fit in a stern, quiet voice. No need to yell.
