Lasso'd by Mitch ...

Got an email from Mitch yesterday, asking if I am okay, because I've been absent from the Forum. It's nice to be missed.

I spazzed myself out last summer selling my house and buying a new one here ... and moving, moving, moving. Hadn't realized it, but I had gotten in the habit of being all stressed out. So learning to simply breathe, get some serenity, has been Job One. Got a new dog -- a rescue white miniature poodle named Annie.

During my volunteer gig last summer -- after my house sold -- I told my fellow vols I would just point my rig "thataway" (wherever that would be) after the park closed for the winter. But truth be told, I was terrified. So I bought a house in an active retirement community in St. George.

Not sure if I want to stay, but I got a great deal on a lovely foreclosure and it's good for now. My RV is still in snowy Salt Lake City and I've been trolling volunteer.gov for a nice place to go this summer.

But it's good to be back with you ladies.

Oh, it's so nice to see your face again on the right side of my screen!
Welcome back.

And I sure hear you on the "terrified"...that, I think, describes me deep down inside.
I have the desire, accompanied by an unhealthy dose of overwhelming fear.
I'm not sure I'm over the shock of my great loss.

But, it's GREAT you're back!

Janice, really glad to see you on here again. Since I talk with you on FB, hadn't really thought of you not posting here. My bad.

Glad to see you here, also. You have been missed. And I think we all have done terrible fears, just not all of the same things. I'd be terrified buying a house again. I was so in shock when you did that.

Honestly, Beth, I think I just sabotaged myself by getting into a mortgage. But as sabotage goes, it's a pretty comfortable one.

I'll post pix of my little Annie under the "pets" section after I gather them.

WELCOME HOME, JANICE! So nice to hear from you again. You have made some huge changes since we last heard from you, and it sounds as if you are adjusting just fine. As much as I love going places and being able to have my house-on-wheels, I still love my rooted homes as well. Part of me longs for some stability environmentaly. Looking forward to your posts again!

It's good to see you back.

I am confused, which apparently isn't too hard to accomplish. I thought you bought the house in St. George before you sold your S&B and before the work camping gig. What did I miss?

Linda, if you think you're confused, just think about my life!

Here's the timeline: I bought a townhouse in St. George nearly three years ago. I sold my S&B in Salt Lake City last summer, and bought a house last fall in a retirement community in St. George. I still own the townhouse, which is now a rental.

Does that help?

I was a little confused too as I remember one member's comment that you still have your 'house' or 'condo' in St George after selling the house in SLC. I saw Annie on facebook. She will be a wonderful companion. My life would be empty without my Rudy. If he doesn't go to Rainbow Bridge at the same time I go to Heaven I will be at the shelter for another the next day. I know another won't be Rudy and Rudy will be forever in my heart with my other furry friends who have made their journey to RB.
I also remember the pic of your new S&B home...just love it.
On the subject of death, have any of you heard about putting your (or your pets) ashes in with a tree seed? I'm going to look into this, pick a tree and leave instructions with my kids. Of course there is no guarantee the first seed would grow but another could be started until one does grow. This was on facebook..there was a website which I have forgotten but I'm sure it can be googled.

When our mini poodle had to be put down because of cancer, I opted for cremation & kept the ashes for the sake of my daughter who loved the dog beyond words. 4 months later, my daughter passed & left a note that her ashes be spread along with her beloved Missy's...near water & trees... We honored her wishes...
