the crickets sound real good. The temp is just right - low hunidity and 70. I am feeling really tired for some reason tonight but all I did was run some errands and answer some e-mails. Am making contact with some potential puppy folks. I am hoping to get two in situations where they can be shown and have a good home life. One boy is headed to be someone's beautiful pet. He looks wonderful but just isn't very big and would do better as someone's special lap warmer. The tiny girl may or may not stay with me. I am so decisive now aren't ? I did order a custom mattress today for the new bed in the bus that replaces the couch that came out. I was frustrated because the initial company had a limited selection to chose from and gave me different "custom lengths" I could chose. Finally I got bright and check on "google" and found a small mattress factory not 15 miles away. They will make anything with any measurements you want. I was able to get one made out of high quality foam. It will be lighter and not as high(take up less space) and will cost me about $50 less. It should be done by early next week. What I need now it to get the MH washed. There is a Truck Stop up near the Interstate that does a nice job. Better than my legs can manage up and down on a ladder! So, enjoying the crickets and the campfire and hoping to feel better tomorrow.

Ah, Fernie, you've done a great job on the fire. We're just finishing up dinner - new crust recipe for homemade pizza - a keeper, and Ava's Ice Cream In A Ziplock Baggie she posted today. It was DELICIOUS! So, I'm basking in the glow of an appreciated meal.

I think I'll sneak over to grab some of that wine and relax a bit...worked hard today.

I was going to buy a propane campfire, but now, after reading all about surge protectors, I think a surge protector's maybe a better choice over a campfire. Why in the world can't there just be an endless well of moo-lah? Jeez!

Hope you're enjoying being back in Tennessee for at least a while. I sure am. Love the quiet out here in the country, although we did have a bit of traffic today...

Have a good evening, everyone!

No, not typical at all. Never saw it before. Had no clue where they were going. I understand lots of souvenirs were left on the road as they passed through! :)

How in the world are you finding the time to be here posting??? You are quite a superwoman! But what an exciting new adventure!

I'm off to bed to relax a bit before sleep. Have a good evening.

Sitting in Las Cruces, too hot for a real campfire, so I'm going to enjoy this one. Hoping to go to Silver City in a few days and GET MY FLAMINGO WINE GLASS! I've had enough real wine, so need some virtual-where did you guys hide it?? Tomorrow I have an appt with a ENT guy to see if this echoing in my ears is anything I need to be concerned about, then to EL Paso for DH to buy Z-coil sneakers and hopefully onto the trolley into Juarez. Played tennis today and Bob really hurt his heel (plantar facilitis) so hopefully these shoes will help. I'm enjoying the trips everyone is taking and the conversations and pics of those that are staying home. carold

I think I could enjoy slowing down for a few minutes. The day has been full of expected and unexpected. I got the MH washed and the LP refilled. It will last longer now that it is warm and the husband doesn't forget and leave the furnace on (after he borrowed it) I cleaned the bus out from the Memorial Day puppy trip and put the temporary mattresses away upstairs. My new custom ordered mattress should be ready some time this week. Now I need to figure out how to apple the tinting to the side windows. I picked some up from Walmart and am hoping that it will cut the heat a little. Every little bit helps and this tin can isn't very big. Then I also got a call back from an exchange of e-mails and the little OR boy went bye bye to his forever home. He was carries out in the arms of one of the two daughters. They family had purchased an ENglish Springer from another member of our local Kennel CLub last year and had decided that they needed a second dog and had fallen in love with an Aunts English Cocker. The father had e-mailed a breeder in NC who directed him back to me. Then we find out that they live less than 10 minues away from my house. It is a small world. So now there are three.

I don't even want to think about how much your husband's heel must hurt. I finally took myself to a foot doctor last year once I figured out what I had and that it was not going away by itself. I missed not being able to wear sandels and flipflops ....but the inserts and a good gym shoe and stretching exercises did finally allow the heel to heal. It was so hard not being able to walk very far or very long.....believe me it is the only form of exercise I undertake so it was missed. And I don't have to tell you that the dogs really didn't understand why we weren't walking 6 miles anymore. Talk about walking, about 6:15 tonight I got a call from a very good friend, fellow 4-H advisor, dog person, etc. She wanted to know if I was available to walk with her. (She walks everyday with her dogs on the nearby bike trail and doesn't have an extra ounce of fat on her.) I reminded that she walks too fast for me to be her walking partner....and well.... she had to admit that that was why she was calling. She had hurt her foot and couldn't walk too fast but if she went by herself she would forget and just keep pushing it, she needed me to slow her down so she didn't re-injure her foot. Now I ask, isn't that what friends are for. If you need to walk a little slower I'm your person. Herschel and I enjoyed our walk with our friends. Now I'm enjoying the campfire and dreaming of real ones.

Ouch--when your feet hurt, you hurt all over. I had heel spurs part of the time when I was working and that was soooo painful. Of cource, if you have heel spurs, you always have them unless you have them removed. It is just a matter of whether they are bothering you or not. That is why I go to my podiatrist in Illinois. The last pair of orthodics I had made in Tn., my heel spurs killed me the whole time I wore them. Finally quit wearing them and went back to my podiatrist in Illinois and haven't had any trouble since. Of course, I stay in the same style New Balance shoes which helps.

I'm just chilling her by a blazing campfire listening to all the night sounds!! Sure is peacefull-----except I think I hear someone giggling in the distance. I think they have been into the stash!!! I grabbed a couple off the wall----don't know what the count is. Lori-------you know what it is?

Wish I could join you around a real campfire with a real hot toddy some day! In the meantime, I will settle for this great cyber fire and written conversation! A fire would feel very good here this morning, for sure. Thanks for the warmth, and company! Catch you later tonight when I can have a sip or two with you! I am leaving some dry wood to keep this going!

Boy, I'm glad the fire is going here.....cause it has rained here in central PA for 2 days straight.... and I mean "hard rain".....lightening...thunder....dark clouds.....everything outside is sopping wet.....it's all depressing... ..Sooooooooo.....Ernie & I took a trip into visit with the kids and the grand-kids this morning......took lunch with us....DS had to go to work at 1pm, but DIL and GD were home....GS in school for last day....we had a nice visit...GD wanted to get into Papa's truck (with her seat) and go to Grammy's & Papa's to see the waterfalls....Poor kid....we had to tell her no cause of the wet weather, but she can come up, maybe, this weekend....she was so disappointed....crying.....but I called a little later and she was fine.....I think it upset this Grammy more that it did her.....anyways, Ernie's on a run into town to the store for stuff we forgot to get while we were out earlier....and I'm going to watch the TV and work on the Counted Cross-stitch project, after having a beer from the wall and doing the count for Fernie..... ;)

Let's see, on page 62 my last count read...101 bottles of beer on the wall....Fernie took 4 and me, 1.....so................

96 bottles of beer on the wall..................96 bottles of beer...............

Will come back to fill my Flamingo wine glass later.... ;)

well the weather has been so nice the fire is dieing out, maybe it was the rain.
Gonna start this fire the quick way, using a little charcoal starter fluid, that'll
do the trick. Could use a little relaxation before I get off to bed. A glass of
wine helps too :P
