I went through all of my cupboards and compartments in Myrtle. Penny is full of stuff to have a small yard sale, so will do that this weekend, weather permitting. I even cleaned under the sinks. I noticed where there has been a roof leak and got a couple of my cabinets wet at the top edge. Ken helped me put a tarp over that area, since it has been trying to rain here, lately. I have been planning to get my roof coated with bedliner, anyway, so now is the time. It's a huge chunk of $ for this poor workamper, but I have to take care of Myrtle, since she's my home. I went to both places, here, that do it. I went in, again, to the one I like and talked to the business owner. I talked him down a little and he said to bring her in on Mon. Tues if it is raining on Mon. They will keep her for a week. They're going to do the front of Penny, also, as a rock guard, and the top of the rear bumper, where it gets scratched by the hatch.

Chicago Rick is hoping to leave IL, tomorrow....FINALLY!!! I was hoping to get the work done on Myrtle, this week, so may keep me from getting down to Tucson, to meet him, when I wanted. We'll work it out, somehow. I'm excited :D

Just a thought but If you have sensitivities to odors or have frequent sinus, respiratory or headache issues you might want to check out an RV that has had this procedure done to see if there is a lingering smell after these roofs are coated.

Another truck goes thru the ice here!

This one was a miracle situation tho. The guy and his dog were driving across the lake the other night (after dark which is a big no-no) and all of a sudden the truck dropped thru the ice. He was able to roll his window down and just waited for the truck to hit bottom as it filled up with water. He had a small pocket of air to breath so he took one last breath, crawled thru the window and swam to the surface. He was somehow able to climb up onto the ice and started screaming for help. A neighbor nearby was outside and heard him and called 911. He was rescued, but unfortunately, his dog didn't get out of the truck and drowned.
The truly amazing thing about this story, is the guy is a paraplegic and was still able to get out of his truck window and swim to the surface and get up on the ice!

When will these people learn not to drive on the ice?? There are large signs all over around the lake warning people to stay off the ice! This guy was lucky, but some are not.

Oh, Barbie, I wish I could call that a miracle - instead I say he murdered his dog by his total stupidity.

I saw him on TV being interviewed on some channel today. He left out the part about his dog.

Idiot!! He is lucky he didn't have a couple of kids with him. :x

And they should not call this an accident or treat him like a hero.

I agree, it was his negligence and stupidity that got him into that situation and killed his dog. I was just saying it was a miracle that he was able to save himself being he is handicapped.

BJ...When I had bedliner applied to my truck, I don't recall it smelling at all. Since it will be on the roof, I'm not too worried about that. Also, it will be beige, so shouldn't get hot. I have to do something ASAP and never really liked the idea of rubber. I did consider doing it, myself, but I think I will leave it to the professionals.

Had some yummy buttermilk waffles for breakfast...and I didn't have to cook! Ken made them from scratch and I was impressed so much that I had two ;) I think I'll head over and pay Myrtle a visit. Been researching and envisioning some redecorating ideas. May do some destruction  I'll take before and after pics, but will have to brush up on how to post them, here. I had a yard sale on Friday and got some junk sold :D It was too windy, yesterday, so boxed it all up and will put out a table again next weekend, when the parkwide sale is.

Chicago Rick's departure from the arctic tundra (IL) has been delayed by weather and the discovery of a weak point on his motorcycle trailer. His friend is going to weld it, tomorrow. He will really need to keep an eye on the weather, even heading south and west! Geesh!!! This is sure a crazy year for weather. In case I haven't said it, I'm so glad I chose AZ, this winter!!! I hope all you sistahs are staying warm ;)

Third that. It really upsets me when bad things happen to dogs due to the uncaring stupidity of the human beings that should care about them, and whom they trust with their very lives.

Evil eye on him. Not a "miracle" and most certainly not a "hero". Just a total and utter a**h***.

I just made an amazing discovery!

Laying here sick and bored, I decided to look thru my photo album from my days in California. I came to the pics of my birthday on Catalina Island. The day I was leaving there, I was waiting on the pier for the boat to ride back on, when I saw way out in the distance a huge line of dolphins swimming south. They swam past for about 20 minutes, there must have been hundreds of them! I took several photos but even with my zoom it was hard to get a good, clear photo of them. There were a few that were closer to me that I got better pics of, but the main group of them was out a lot farther. I was so excited to see that!

However, I would have been even more excited had I realized then...that they were actually Orca whales!!!! OMG! Looking at the pics just now (with a magnifying glass, to be sure), I realized that they were black and white, not grey like dolphins! The ones closer to me were, in fact, dolphins but the line, or pod, were whales! I can't believe I missed that until now. So cool!

Very neat, Barbie, but look close for the dorsal fin - as the Dall Porpoises look like Orcas - and are black and white. I believe that California is about the southernmost part of their range. They are the type of porpoises I was watching in Alaska - love them lots. People who first see them almost always mistake them for Orca's.

They are very tiny on the photo but with the magnifying lens, it does look like the markings of the porpoise rather than the orca. Darn! Oh well, I have never seen those either, so still cool, but not as cool as a whale pod would have been.
