Another place to look for polo shirts is Blairs catalog...they have some very nice clothes...however, if you get on their mailing list you will get catalogs every few days it seems like. lyn

saw a bunch of polo's when I went shopping at Burlingtons, lots of different colors too.
I didn't get much relaxing done today, in fact I was more like the energizer bunny working out in
the yard. Got my gate made for the front steps of the deck. Its painted and hung. Nice little slide
bolt latch. Also did my hair, got it cut the other day and styled it today just to experiment. But,
all in all, I did what I wanted to for a day off and I'll have plenty of time to chill in the recliner
this evening. I guess when you do something you want to do verses you have to do, well, it just
feels better. :D Boiled some eggs and having egg salad sandwich for dinner and beverage of choice
for the evening....a nice glass of wine.

I was just by Burlington today but went in a different store. A store called Dirt Cheap opened a month or so ago. I had never been in there. Talk about a bunch of junk. Most of what they have is Dollar Store quality clothes that aren't very cheap. I saw very few name brands that I recognized.

I wanted to get a King Cake because tomorrow is Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday and they will quit making them until next year. Went by Whole Foods and the front came through with rain while I was in there. The temperature dropped 20 degrees in just a few minutes. The traffic was terrible. I guess because it's a holiday everyone was out shopping. I gave up and headed home.

Martha, not only is tomorrow Fat Tuesday, but it is also Shrove Tuesday, which is also Pancake Day. This is the beginning of the Lenten season and on Shrove Tuesday, as far back as I can remember, we always had pancakes and sausage for dinner and I won't break that tradition. So if anyone is up for German pancakes and sausage, we usually have dinner on the table about 6:30.

That sounds good Irmi. Now you have me hungry for pancakes. Yes, tomorrow is Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday depending on which denomination uses what words. All boils down to the same thing. Up here, being this was a more Polish dominate area then now, Packzi (pronounced (poonsh-key) is the big thing and already has been out in the stores. They are like a super sized jelly donut, and filled with a variety of different fillings. Very rich but very popular.

back home after spending a few days in Vegas with my sister....had a good time didn't go down town though
but did get new tires for the truck poor baby it's been costing me so much that I haven't had the money for the tires
so didn't but just in case the problem this last time wasn't covered by the tranny warranty I had gone to see if I could
change my recent loan was able to so it covered my towing fee and if the warranty covered it new tires...yea the warranty
covered the issue and so new tires!!! so glad...when the guy came out to look at the tires to see what kind I needed pointed
out that the rear tire was low...yep time for new tires the rear ones were almost 3 years old and the front ones even older...
I hope that these last as long as I have the truck!!! so while in Vegas my sister mentioned think a recipe for Mardi Gras cake...told her I'd
heard of it but never seen a recipe then realize that no that wasn't the name of it ...it was the King cake so what is Mardi Gras cake?
glad to be home yes had the comfort of sticks and bricks and all the internet I wanted but still as Dorothy would say "there is no place like home"
my eldest granddaughter leaves for marine basic training tomorrow morning ....she is barely 18 ...hope all goes well with her...

I have never heard of a Mardi Gras cake but it's probably the same thing as a King Cake. The one I like the best is made by a donut place. It's made out of the same thing they make donuts out of but braided and fried. Then they put colored sugar on top. You can get them with filling. They just put what ever filling you want between the braids with what looks like a big caulking gun. I got one from a bakery a couple of weeks ago and it was baked. It looked like the filling was put in before it was baked but maybe not. I like the fried one better. I'm just glad you can only buy them for a little while.

Shrove Tuesday? Mom & stepdad always did the potato pancake thing the day before Ash Wednesday. I didn't know it had a name. I wonder if it's a Swedish tradition? I don't think mom did it prior to meeting my stepdad.

Lean sumtin' new everyday. Thanks Irmi :D

This isn't about RVing or anything, but I can't resisting posting it. I don't know whether I'm more thrilled about the technology or about the fact that the developers made it freely available and volunteers all around the world are now making prosthetic hands for children.

The hands are amazing to look at, too -- really appealing to kids, I'd think.

I think it's cool how the kids can customize them to their personality. This boy got a Star Wars arm http://www.wtsp.com/story/tech/2015/01/ ... /21802213/

Being lazy, today, other than my morning walk with the boys. Got on the computer to do some Craigslist ads for myself and a friend. Thought I should check in with the sistahs. The time has been just flying by since I got to AZ!!! Seems like yesterday when I was at the GTG in Q. It was so nice to meet more of you! I impressed myself with my boondocking experience. Other than running Myrtle's truck battery down a bit, I did very well. Luckily, I have one of those booster buttons that tie all the batteries together, so I could start her. I just need to run the gen and start the engine more often, when boondocking that long. I was there for just over a week, I think, then went to my DGF's, in Joshua Tree, CA. It was a bit spontaneous, but how could I not, when it is only 150 miles from Q? Had a great time and she let me leave Myrtle there, so drove Penny back to Apache Junction. Been staying with Ken. Yes, Rick knows ;) I bought my DD a plane ticket, back when I was working at Amazon, for her birthday gift. She flew out for just over a week. Spent a few days here, then drove over to JT and stayed in Myrtle, at my DGF's. We had a great time, but wished we could have squeezed in some more. She really loved our visit to my friend's in Wonder Valley. He is a bit eccentric, but interesting, to say the least. Lots of cool things to look at and projects going on. A bunch of us women converged on him for a pot luck and music and fire, under the stars. I just love going out there! True desert bliss. DD is back in frigid NE and I am missing her company, but looking forward to the arrival of my Chicago Rick's arrival :D He has been doing some projects for family and friends, but hoping to leave that arctic mess by this weekend and head out here. His dad gave him a trailer, so he has been modifying it to put his motorcycle on it. Will be nice to ride again! I still have my riding gear with me. Been going through everything in Myrtle, thinning out the crap. I plan to have a little yard sale this weekend. Well, I think this paragraph is long enough...lol! I'll try to check in sooner next time. Hope you are all having a great day!

Nope! I have been on the go so much and now working on getting Myrtle ready to leave. There are people I still need to see and things I want to do, before I go to Tucson to meet up with Chicago Rick. I just know I won't get to do it all. I did start receiving UI, again, so that helps me get by until my summer job. It was so nice to put faces to everyone, as you said.
