Avoid any recipes of the alcoholic kind for at least a while, Carolyn! Take my word for it!!

I will have another batch of my Recipe at next years FL GTG, and we can dance then!! (Carefully!)

Happy travels!

I can dance from the waist up! LOL and that's not so pretty. PT sucks but mainly b/c the home health didn't have any work ethic, told me he didn't understand why I had to do the ones they sent me from the hospital. Anyway, fired him immediately and Jonathan made arrangements to go to Advance Therapy and my first time was with them yesterday. OMG, I thought I was going to die, yes literally, die. It hurt so bad but I kept thinking about the Whim and the Lodge and I've got to get back on the road. The therapist seemed to think that since I had continued to do what they told me at the hospital I had not done any damage to the healing process.

So I don't have a time frame for getting back to TN. I go to Dr follow-up on 4/26 to have 36 staples removed and get an update on my progress. I really like having my meals cooked for me and brought to me. I'm kind of liking the attention I'm getting but I know that will get old after a while for them so I'll know when it's time and its a little too soon to think in those terms.

Thanks so much for all your well wishes. God is good!

OH BTW I had a beer the other night and it just didn't do what I thought it would do. No buzz, but it was good.

I'm glad my DH was able to go into a rehab hospital after surgery because he was being a baby about doing the physical therapy. The only better thing would have been for them to tell me I couldn't stay. He could tell me what to do but not them. They didn't want him to lay around and get pneumonia. I think it's better to go to a physical therapy place than have home health come to the house. They have the equipment, we don't. Hang in there, it will get better.

Glad to hear all is going well with your recovery. Let them pamper you for as long as you require it. Enjoy that aspect as the PT, as you know, can be brutal. Continued luck with your recovery. Linda

I haven't been on the forum much, but gosh I sure don't know how this got by me. Have been wondering about you and here it was right in front of my face !!!! Or it was a few mins. ago, two pgs I was behind on your thread and you have even responded. Got to be diligent or you miss out, some threads go down the pg. fast. Just haven't been able to get on every day, so much to do, and haven't kept up very good with any of it.

So, so glad to hear you are doing so good. I know the tp is rough, had a friend who had both of hers done at one time, so I know some of what you're going through. But you can be tough, and when you feel like giving in, just think of all those things you enjoy so much doing and you'll get 'er done :D We're giving you a couple of months leeway and then some one may have to go kick your behind, cuz we miss ya and you have to join in our fun times soon.

Wishing you fast healing, less painful days, and a real quick recovery,
Still got ya in my prayers,
CArol :)

So glad to hear you got a better PT program - as that's so vital for you. Sounds like now you really can be on the road to recovery. And while you can get food delivered - go for it g/f.

Once you get the staples out, it will actually get a little better with the PT. But it's going to hurt for a while, I won't lie to you. Ice is your friend and so are the pain meds if you still have them. If not, ibuprofen before you go to PT.

And range of motion exercises are the absolute worst. There's a reason I call my therapist Theresa the Terrible and her Little Shop of Horrors. But if it didn't hurt when she was doing the ROM, it wouldn't be helping. The trick is to push just a little farther each time.

PS - and as bad as the knee PT was, when I had my rotator cuff operated on is when TT actually made me cry doing ROM.

Carolyn, so glad that the healing process is moving in the right direction. As summer comes you will be stronger and stronger..... And some water therapy will begin to sound almost nice. :)

I can just hear you now!! During PT you will be sounding like you are speaking a foreign language. But for sure if anyone takes the time to listen closely they will realize that you are cussing up a storm!!! :D

Keep going girl. It's a rocky road but you will get to that sweet spot before you know it.

and join in with everyone
My mom had her surgery yesterday they allowed her to push the little button when she was in pain
