There is also a product called Spring Rain that is the same thing.

20 Mule Team Borax also acts as a water softener and I've used it to clean and flush my black and gray tanks. I put about a cup into a 1/2 full tank (40 gal tank) and go for a drive. I then dump when I get to the CG.

I have a built in flush system on each black tank but the Borax seems to find even more gunk. All my sensors appear to be working properly as well.

I saw Calgon at Walmart a few years ago, but when I went last year to buy another box they no longer had it. Amazon can get it to you by Tuesday if you have Prime and get it with one day shipping.

The Calgon in the bath section by the bubble bath is a totally different product and not the one used in the Geo method.

If you are looking for Calgon or Spring Rain or any of the products suggested for use in the Geo method, I would suggest you try in stores that serve a large rural area where many homes are still dependent on private wells for their water. In our area most of the farms are now connected to rural water systems and the need for these products has diminished. I have to run to the grocery store this morning and I'll check to see if Ron still has either of the products. I'm sure that is where I bought my Spring Rain in the powder form a couple of years ago. If he does I'll be more than happy to send it to anyone who can't find it in their area.

Back from the grocery store and good ol' Ron's has both the Calgon 6.79 and the Spring Rain 5.89 in powder form. :o See all of you are just in too heavily populated areas! You have to go to a town with 600 people and no stop lights! If anyone can't find it I'll send it to you. Should be able to fit in one of those flat rate boxes from USPS.

Excellent point about rural areas! I need a place that carries bars of Fels Naptha soap! Anyone remember that? I do have some Borax that I bought to have for ants, so maybe I will use that until I can find the other stuff. In the one Wal-Mart they actually got a manager who tried to sell me the water softener salt. Maybe I should try small town hardware stores, as well as grocery stores.

This reminds me of the time I tried to find a pastry blender. After trying a few stores, I decided to call around. When one young thing asked me if it had a motor, I gave up! (Guess if it does not have a motor, you cannot use it to bake or cook.)

I had full hookups yesterday, and I had bought a bigger hose (3/4"), so did some flushing and it seemed to work much better than my smaller 1/2 " older hose. I also bought a second 15' hose to give to my son who uses his water hose to flush his black tank in his trailer. They do not drink their fresh water, thankfully, and buy big jugs of bottled water. His wife pointed out that I drank my water and had not died yet, so maybe if he uses the separate hose, I can talk him into sanitizing his tanks and drinking the RV water.

My problem with having anything shipped to me is that I keep on the move constantly. I could have something shipped for store pickup but I checked and Wal-Mart does not have ship to store on that.

I will try the Borax in the meantime and keep looking in smaller towns.

By the way, I always will remember the smell of Fels-Naptha soap that my mother and grandmother used.
