Too much stuff at the same time! And don't you hate bureaucracy? One foot in front of the other . . .

You will be so much healthier when you are in your own place! Hang in there!

wow, I didn't know this documentation thing was all over, thought it was just Arizona. Good idea for everyone to check into it before its time for your renewal of any drivers license just in case you have to jump through hoops.

I have no idea where my marriage license is, although I think my divorce papers are tucked away somewhere! And finding three people who have known me all my life would be impossible at my age. They are either dead or have moved somewhere a long way away and I have lost track of them.

It would take weeks and weeks for me to find that stuff, so I feel for those of you working through it.

So glad I went back to my maiden name after my divorce and all my documents are in my maiden name - so that's easy. Hardest part for me is remembering the social security card.

I would be out of luck finding one person that has known me my whole life that wasn't related. I can only think of 3 cousins that are older than I am.

We lost most all important papers when our house flooded except vehicle titles. Vehicle titles are printed on very good paper. I have already had to replace our marriage license but don't remember why. Might have been something to do with my retirement. Probably should order copies of our birth certificates before someone wants them for something.

I know I could not come up with 3 people who have known me all my life either - relative or otherwise.

If its any consolation, at least your clearances don't involve a life style polygraph - used to hate those things.

Proud of you, Ava - keep plugging ahead.

I started watching Downton Abbey again. I was so mad when they killed off Mathew that I said I wasn't going to watch it anymore. Guess I'll get sucked in again.

Just got back from touring the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Ship was very interesting to me as I have always loved the old ships, but my experience here was not good. First, it is very confusing what you get for the tickets. They keep referring to "passports" and tell you it is the most popular ticket combination, but vague about what is included. They also try to sell you guided tours and steer you away from self-guided audio tours. I think I overpaid. Second, they charge $40 for motorhome parking. That is anything over 30 minutes and up to all day. No hourly options. (First 30 minutes is $5 if you decide to leave without touring the ship.) Worst part is that parking prices are NOT listed on the website or even outside of the parking lot. It is not even listed inside the parking lot except on a small sign near the tours where it could be missed if you walked a bit away from it, so you could easily park and not realize the steep price. I asked where else I could park, and no one knew.

I tried to complain to hotel management, but they left me waiting so I gave up. Lady finally tracked me down but had another wait for management person. I told her the whole parking prices situation was very misleading and very bad customer service. She offered to charge me $30 for two parking spots, but I told her that was not the point. Prices need to be posted and customers warned.

Anyway, back to campground and enjoying sunset over the Pacific to recover from Southern California traffic.

I've been a little remiss in responding to some posts - so here goes

Happy birthday to anyone I've missed. You're not getting older your getting better like fine wine.

Ava - sorry about your situation. Deep breaths and remember every day is closer to living the dream.

Sarah - I'm sad to read that your niece is having problems and is still in the hospital. I will keep sending prayers and positive thoughts her way. Take care of yourself too and post pics of your new hair do if you decide to go for it. Locks of love is an awesome thing.

JudyJB - too bad about Queen Mary visit. Let downs are not a good thing, especially when you look forward to it. Well, at least you've had some good visits with your family. And good luck with the new tires.

All the bloggers - - - keep up the posts & the wonderful pics. I'm living vicariously thru all of you for the time being (and constantly updating my bucket list of sights to see - - - so far I'm up to 309 of places you've visited !!!!).

Barbara - have fun in Florida - bring some warmth back up this way (if you go back home :D )

On Edit:
Donna (grammymaggie) - congrats on the new grandbaby that's on the way.

Bummer on Queen Mary visit; totally agree with you about the parking notice and that it seems way too high. I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed my visit but that had to be 25 or more years ago. I was in CA on a 10 day work assignment and actually got to do some exploring over part of a weekend; an unusual thrill for me.

I got really frustrated today in the area just east of Laguna Beach because I was almost out of gas and in these planned development cities, they tend to hide their gas stations. Guess they think they look tacky. Anyway, thought I had found one, but even though it said "76" I found out they don't sell gas, just do repairs. And this was after a great deal of maneuvering to get in. Grrrr. :x

I finally found one and was pumping my gas when a lady came up and said she had noticed I was driving alone. She was about in her mid-40s and said she had a young daughter and had always wanted to do what I was doing and was glad to see a woman driving alone. We had a very pleasant chat. She has read books about women doing things like this and was thinking of renting a motorhome for a month some summer. She asked how hard it was to drive. I told her to go for it, that there were a lot of us women who had learned how to drive RVs of all sizes!

Anyway, I always mention this forum when I bump into women who show an interest in RVing.

Judy,
That would have been so frustrating! I know I fill up when my tank gets to 1/2 since finding diesel (& not biodiesel) is getting harder & harder. I can't imaging how hard it is with a larger rig.
Its nice though that you got to encourage another wannabe. That might all she needs to join the adventure eventually. :D

Sheila, sorry to hear your granddaughters are sick. Hope they get well soon.

Louisiana is one of the states with high Flu infections. My younger son called this morning and said he though he had the flu. I went and picked him up and took him to a walk in clinic to get some medicine and to the drug store to get his prescriptions filled. There are so many people sick there I hate to have to go there. Last week I went to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor with him and came down with a cold. He has been sick with a cold or sinus for the last 2 months. None of the medicine seems to help. I have had a flu shot so hope I don't catch something else.

Last week when I took Ronnie to the doctor for his annual checkup, I stopped by Walgreens & got him a box of the masks that cover your nose & mouth. There were two kind, one just said it kept out pollen, dust, etc., but the ones I got said it protected you from the different flu strains. He always gets sick after going places with lots of people & germs, so usually he sits in the waiting room with the neck of his shirt pulled up over his face. the mask is an improvement! My Dad said the walk-in clinic here hands everybody a mask when they walk in the door, the flu is so bad.

Sheila, sorry to hear about the little ones, what is RSV?
