I'm sorry you are feeling melancholy this morning, Sparkle. Those feelings can just come out of nowhere sometimes and bring tears to your eyes or even a good boohoo cry. You are right about that walk on the beach. Exercise is one of the best ways to lift your spirits (gets those endorphins going in your brain), and for me anyway, giving those thoughts over to God in prayer always restores me too. "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11: 28-30)

Aw Sparkle - yep, we'll go walk on the beach and try to clear our heads - let me know when you want to do so. You had a lot going on that triggered memories for you - so, of course, it's very understandable your feelings. Not sure if your funk will go with our walk on the beach, but hopefully seeing Elvis tonight won't trigger memories and can help clear the funk.

Yes, folks, we're seeing Elvis tonight :)

Sparkle, it's okay....no matter how long someone has been gone, we still miss them.....your thoughts are common and it also shows you are healthy....I'll say a prayer for you to help you through the day....

Now, on the Potato thing.....Beth was just so excited about doing her 1st potato in her new oven, that she forgot a step....but I must say it sure was an "explosive" experience..... So, in honor of this, I've wrapped some potatoes in foil and have placed them under the edge coals of our campfire to roast...and there's sour cream, chives, butter, and cheese to put on them when they are ready....Enjoy!!!!!

Lori, my heart went pit-a-pat! I thought you were going to say you wrapped potatoes in foil and were going to put them in the microwave. That could have been interesting. :?

Back in the dark ages when you boiled baby bottles and nipples, I scrapped nipples off of the ceiling. What can I say, I was a tired mom and let the water boil out of the pot. :D

Hugs to Sparkle - though I know she left the campfire earlier this morning. Funny thing about memories - they don't always sit around thinking about how sensible they want to be - they just are.

I'll put some more wood on and enjoy - the weather today was much nicer. I even made it out for a walk :) Feeling very virtuous but know that it will take a lot more miles than that to make a change in pant sizes. The dog was happy though.

Trying to plan out my time, potential travel, part-time work and finances for the next few months.....choices and choices. I get tired of being responsible......why can't I blow a bunch of money like some of the banks and then get a bail out rescue?

Sparkle----I sure do hope you got that long beach walk today with Beth and Peaches. It's good to know you have another side to your usual cheerful, contagiously funny self. Not that I didn't really know it was there, anyway, and I suspect we all have a deep emotional side which we keep under control most of the time. However, once in a while, it is so good for the soul to let that other personality go free and go for a walkabout. I am honored that you are trusting enough to allow us to see another side of you. It speaks mountains about this wonderful group of women.

Thinking of you tonight, and sending good and comforting thoughts your way.

And Molly sends soothing licks, too!

Ahhhhh Sparkle!!!

Sometimes the damnedest things can cause memories to sneak up and broadside your heart.

Lost both my parents in '94'. Mom's passing was a blessing and we all expected it. Dad's was totally unexpected as it was an accident in Pensacola Fl. I worshiped both my parents but Dad's death bothers me to this day. Once in a while I will see an older man walking along and he will be walking just the way my father use to. I've stopped a couple and asked them if they were Navy. LOL The looks I got at first then they would say yes. But just to see that will cause me to come to a complete stop right along with my heart. And then the tears will start. I think one of the worst days was hearing a woman laugh, good grief she sounded like my Mom. Not an hour later I saw an older man with a white helmet and white beard on a Honda Goldwing. Talk about a double whammy. But it happens to us all and we deal with it and go on. Just like we're suppose to.

{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} To you Sparkle, we are all here, all offering our shoulder if needed. And if your a good girl I even supply a tissue or two. I think I still have a couple left!!!

Just a quick sit down for a few minutes as I need to get to bed. Finish my coffee and Baileys and I will be gone.

Made up my mind to go into work for 4hrs tomorrow to get a few hours and actually get 40hrs of actual work in. We had Monday off as it was a holiday and did get paid for it but so I guess you can almost call it double time? Or between the hours I will have put in for the week and the 8hrs of holiday pay I will end up with 48hrs of straight time? LOL I like it at any rate. Next week I will get a few hours in and they will be considered overtime.

Looks like the campfire was busy today. Sad posting but helped by very good friends. And good exercise too! LOL

Poor potato!!! I had to help my Mom scrape boiled eggs off the ceiling. And then got the job of helping to paint that ceiling too. I found out that microwaves can have issues with peas too. The inside of my microwave was the prettiest speckled green one time! Yuck.

Ok my coffee and Baileys is gone. It's time to so to bed. If I don't I'll be a grump in the morning.

Hope ya'll have a good night. Sleep tight!!!

Sparkle, you know some days ya wonder..and those feelings we've surpressed just have to come to the surface...nothing we can do about it.. but it sure aches inside.. and yes, hurts like he77.. .. You still shine, even as those tears fall..You are a beautiful person.. All of us here, just grabbing on to you..letting you know we all care and eager to give you our support and most of all a Friendship that is everlasting.. No matter where you are ..we are with you, by just a click or a phone call or even a space parked near ya.. Heck Sparky.. You know there's not a state where you'd be where one of us wouldn't be close by.. Just think in May you'll have Echo and Kelly...right with ya. Now ya know you're in for a few surprises too..and Now you've seen Elvis.. See what good things are coming into your life...Know that it's ok to let it all out..and from what I've read..it's healthy...

So I'm giving you a group hug..cause all of us feel the same way... Hang in there, it will pass...but we surely won't let ya go..Image

God Bless

Thank you all so much. I was beating myself up for posting my downer, but its good to know that we all go through those moments and pick ourselves up and start again. It is almost February, and I usually get the blues then. I remember last year I was moaning about "wandering across the country for the rest of my life?" Someone quoted me and said, Sounds good to me. And of course they were right. Don't you love Barbzee's emoticon?

Sparkle,... pull your chair closer to the fire,.... we'll all sit with you, maybe sip a cold one or roast some marshmellows,... or just be quiet and watch the flames, but we're with you.

The potato thing brought back a long ago memory. My MIL came to help out right after my third son was born. She decided to fixed fried shrimp for dinner. She rinsed out the frying pan then put in the oil without drying the pan. Needless to say we had oil all over the kitchen. I can't believe that she was not hurt in the process. I told my DH that I didn't think I needed her help anymore as he was trying to clean up the kitchen.

Sparkle, I also had a few tears on Christmas morning. My DH died about the same time as yours. I just sat there and thought of all he was missing with his grandchildren. Six years and the memories keep coming back. Most of them are wonderful.
