Carolyn, guess my post got lost in cyberspace. That's a first for me. I'm excited that, in the not too distant future, you will be able to do all the active activities you love without pain. Haven't met a person yet that had knee replacement and wasn't happy with the outcome. You'll be on my mind. carold

I can only ditto what the others have said...I joined water aerobics after back surgery and many of the ladies were recuping from knee surgery. They said the water exercises was their best therapy. Positive energy and prayers coming your way!

Carolyn, best wishes for a successful surgery and recuperation. I know you will be up and on the road in no time. I had a friend who was having a lot of time and pain when she walked and just had both of her knees done last fall, without a lot of time between the surgeries. I was amazed at how fast she bounced back (and she's 3 years older that I am). Now she's out and walking and feels so much better. Keep us posted on your progress, the hurts, the whines, the progress, the whole works

Good luck, Carolyn, and I'll be seeing you out on the trails again very soon! Gotta get better before next winter so we can find a good place to swim for next year's GTG!

Carolyn,
I have always so admired your strength and dedication in all that you do, and that will get you through this. Plus the many prayers that will be sent up for you. I suspect you'll have some good drugs also!! It's my hope that we are able to connect at The Lodge when Ron and I travel to Nashville (with Ron in Nashville or Alabama!) That will depend, of course, on your recovery. If not, we will definitely connect another time and place! Love you much!

I had mine done five years apart and it was a good thing for me, even at my "young" age. The recovery takes time and my insurance paid for 8 weeks of therapy the first time and 12 weeks the second time. I wasn't allowed to drive with my right knee for several weeks because of the weakness in the leg but I think I was driving with my left leg as soon as I was cleared after getting the staples out about 2 weeks out. I also didn't stay on the walker as long with the second knee because I knew what to expect.

And the pain pump right into the knee is the way to go!!!

Carolyn,

Was so surprised to read about your surgery. I thought pehaps we'd get together while you are in Kingsland but then decided you wouldn't be around long enough. Now it looks like you'll be around longer. Let me know when you're ready for visitors and I'll come visit the pink flamingo with her knee in a sling.

Carolyn, So glad you will be with family after your surgery. I am confident the surgery will be successful and after rehab therapy you will be shocked at how much better you will be doing.

I think its tomorrow, the 10th Mitch.

Thinking about you Carolyn, knowing all will go well, and you'll be up and around faster then you think. Especially when the kids start dictating your days and schedule to you  Seems most of our children think they can do this when we're down, the idea though is not to be down that long. :o ;)

Been mentioning you in my prayers, lady,
,Wishing you a fast recovery

I received an early morning text from Carolyn's son (Jonathan) that "his Mom is out of surgery and doing well". Great news!
