Lenora I so hope he doesn't force her into going to the funeral. Your right in that she is probably emotionally overloaded. And not to even mention scared that she's lost 2 people she love in such a quick amount of time.

The way kids minds works? SHE is probably scared half out of her wits at the thought of "who might" be next!!!!

Big hugs and strength coming your way, Lenora. I think our bodies get physically sick when the emotional stresses get overwhelming, but, I am hoping this cold will get better sooner rather than later. You have been through an exceptionally stessful couple of months, as has your entire family. Your granddaughter has the right idea as she KNOWS she is overstressed, and needs to get herself back into a routine in order to cope. I so hope her father retracts that guilt statement he made to her.

Take some hot toddy, a couple of aspirins, a hot bath, get into some warm fleecy jammies, and get some much-needed rest. Things will look better in the morning.

You might even be able to fill out some more forms!

Much empathy coming your way from me and Molly

Happy travels!

Lenora, I woke early this morning... (rain and pain)... I myself cannot process what has happened in and around you in the past while... how on earth could your dear granddaughter even come close to processing this... You may not have any control over what her father is saying but maybe just maybe he would let you take her right after the funeral and you could give her the stability she needs for a while... sometimes the cemetery and dinners after are so long and she does not need that... this may be to much for you with your overload but it is just a suggestion... heaven knows you need emotional and physical rest... God bless you dear lady and keep keeping on...

Kathleen,
I'm sorry for your added pain from the rain. Hugs.
We live in WA state and the death/funeral is in AZ, so the family will fly down. I talked to my DD this AM and she said that as of right now the 2 girls are not flying down, but staying with friends. I heard the body is being cremated so there won't be a viewing, and I think the girls can be at peace in that last summer the whole family went on a cruise together for their grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. I think that's a great last memory to have of him.

My goodness Lenora - you've had a hard emotional time lately and I'm so very sorry to hear of this newest "hit"
I'm glad the kids aren't being "made" to go to the funeral, it's allot to handle for an adult, I can't imagine how a child could handle it all.
Maybe the family can have a little service of some sort back in WA so the children can have a chance to say goodbye in their own way.
Take care of yourself (((((HUGS)))))

Just sending you a big hug, Lenora, and hoping things will settle down. Seems like it's never ending, but this too shall pass and hopefully your life can get back to some semblance of normal before long.

{{{{{{{{Lenora]]]]]]]]]]] I'm so sorry that your family has to go through another loss again, in such a short time. But at least he went fast and didn't linger on for days and days. I also hope that your SIL didn't make your GD go to the funeral if she didn't want to. She has to process it in her own way. My prayers to you and your family.

It also sounds like you are making progress with your X's will and all the legal matters that need to be taken care of. Things will quiet down in a bit as the legal wheels start turning. Keep up your strength for your upcoming surgeries. I've been through two cataract surgeries myself and once they are done, the results are worth the having to go through them. You will be surprised to find out what you have been missing. GoD Bless You and hold you in th epalm of His Hand.

Lenore so sorry to hear of more loss/tragedy with your family.

Good news about SS....and it should be retroactive to his death.
