How are we to know what words/terminology offends others? Some are obvious but others are not. There are regions in the US that use everyday words that may be offensive to others from other regions.
There has been some "man bashing" on this forum. ie: fixing things, backing up etc. Do you not think that the married women on this forum take offense?
Let's stop pointing fingers. No one on this forum can say they are without fault as you don't know what you might have said that inadvertantly hurt someone else.

Who was it that said; "I may not agree with WHAT you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."?

Lets try not to be so touchy. No one on this forum means to hurt anyone's feelings.

from Wikipedia

The most oft-cited Voltaire quotation is apocryphal. He is incorrectly credited with writing, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” These were not his words, but rather those of Evelyn Beatrice Hall, written under the pseudonym S. G. Tallentyre in her 1906 biographical book The Friends of Voltaire.

There are words that we know offend - like "fat people". And many others. The forum rules are that we be considerate to each other. To now sit back and say, we don't always know, no we don't. However, we do know lots of the words and phrases that hurt. And when someone points them out to us, we should be saying "thank you" "you're right" "I'm sorry". Because that's how we get along with each other. I'm just amazed that instead when someone so nicely shows how people are being hurt, that person is put down for doing so.

I'm locking this thread. Sorry DD - feel free to start another about the conversion and purchase issues.

And I'm sorry to say, we've lost one member over this who I, for one, am very sorry to see leaving. I'm so often impressed by everyone on this forum. At the moment I'm saddened.
