Should I put an update at the beginning of the thread? I don't know.

Anywho, here's what I learned today. I probably have two separate leaks. One that is letting water into the interior of the RV and one at the storage bay.

The storage bay is a closed box, so pretty much (I say pretty much because nothing in my RV world is certain) any water has to come through or past the door. That means the seal around the frame is leaking or, and more likely given where the water is, the seal around the door is broken. I learned how to fix both, so tomorrow I go to Lowe's, gather supplies, and either fix it or screw it up worse. Wish me luck.

One thing that's great about owning a POS RV is that at some point I either get rid of it or I turn it into a project. Right now, Betsy is a project. Fun times ahead!

Learning the source is a big step. Good luck with the project! Did you find the source of leak #2?

Hi Liz, because of where the water pooled and where the RV was parked and the direction of the wind and the slant of the rain and .... ...I have a reasonable guess. I'll recaulk a big section and see where that gets me. That's the best I can do.

Thanks, Colleen. I am feeling better. And I've found my dream rig, a Tiffin Allegro Breeze. Not in this life time, but a girl can dream.

If I was going to buy a Class A it would be a Tiffin. I had an Allegro Bay Class C and loved it. Tiffin quit making Class C's about 1994 and mine was a 1992. We do like to dream.

Thanks for all the support. It's raining now, so I hope the rig is dry enough to work on tomorrow afternoon.

Nikki, I had one underneath storage bin that was leaking this fall. Of course, it was the one where I stored all my spare clothing, suitcase, duffel bag, and other stuff that mildews easily! I do not go in there often, so did not discover it until probably a couple of months after the water got in during heavy rains or possibly car washes. I had to wash everything. The stuff like my suitcase and duffel bag got scrubbed with a brush while on a picnic table and sat in the sun all day to completely dry. Now they are double-bagged in heavy plastic. Everything else is in plastic bins with snap-on covers.

Anyway, there is a rubber seal around the edge which seems to do nothing but let water in. I went to Home Depot and found this weatherstripping tape. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-E ... /100017014 I tried it doubled, but the door would not shut or lock, so I tore it in half, as shown in the photo and tucked it kind of under the old weatherstripping. That pushed out the old stuff and did stop the leak, at least so far.

Hope this helps. I don't know what your storage doors look like so this might not work, but it is an idea.

Judy, you've made my day and it's only 6:00 a.m. I was thinking about weather stripping while I was pouring coffee, before I logged on, wondering how I would know what to buy. Figured I'd take a pic of what's there or scrape some off, or something. Didn't know. Then here you are with just the right info. I love synchronicity. Thank you!

It rained last night and I don't do wet RV roofs, so I hope the sun comes out and dries everything off. I'm itching to get to work.

Thanks again, Judy.

Good luck to you! You might have to try a couple of different types and sizes. The one I chose came in small, medium, large, and extra large, so there is lots available. And you just stuck it on. Much cheaper than having a dealer do it!

Let us know how things go.

Good dream of that Tiffin Breeze. My dream rig was a Tiffin Phaeton but now that I've sold my Holiday Rambler 35' Class A DP, I will probably go with something smaller if I ever get another RV.
Good luck hunting!
