Why I don't drink water. You know what fish do in it, don't you? The only thing it's good for is ice cubes in a Bourbon and Ginger Ale. Even in Ice cubes I can taste the Chlorine.

I did a girls w/e out a few years ago at a hotel and hot mineral springs spa. I decided instead of having my usual massage I would have a treatment that is supposed to get rid of impurities in your body. First they massaged this foul smelling stuff all over me, then they wrapped me in ace bandages and then stuffed me into a plastic suit. Then Attilla the Hun put me in the sauna and cranked up the heat. This wasn't so bad until she brought me a pitcher of ice water and told me I couldn't get out until I drank the whole pitcher. I told her, "Lady, I don't drink that much water in a year!" Her response was that it was gonna be a long year, 'cause she wasn't letting me out until I drank it all. I finally choked it all down, but to say I was floating is the under statement of the year! Weird part is I didn't have to pee, guess I sweated it all out as fast as I drank it. She said she'd never seen anyone take that long to drink a "little" water.

And you PAID for this treatment? Did you feel good when you finally got out?

Sounds like torture to me, but I had fun reading about it.

Isn't it amazing what we do to ourselves. And that was supposed to be relazxing! Like a bikini wax - just reading about getting one would send me running the other way. I'm one of those weird people who cannot stand massages. HATE them.
Did you see the smallest car on the news? It only wieghs 130 pounds. Don't think I'd get in a car that weighs less then me.

Acually, the next day I felt great, lots of energy. And yes, I would probably do it again. Love massages, I get one at least every 3 months or so. In fact, I need one right now after 3 days of being on the motorcycle in the rain and cold.

I have a DIL who is going to massage therapy school and she has to practice. So I naturally offer up my body to science. It's a tough job, getting a massage, but someone's gotta help her out. Hee hee.

Ohhh I love having a massage, in fact I go every other week. I think it keeps me 'operational' many doctors recommend them for maintaining good health. But I have friends who hate the thought. I must say though Sharon, yours sounded like torture, I can't stand being hot. Glad it made you feel better.
I'm also one who loves water and carry it with me everywhere.

When I was going to BU''s Sargent College as a phys. ed. major, our classmates who were majoring in Physical therapy needed guinea pigs to practice on! That was the only time of my life I have ever had massages---and, after a tough day of constant activities of various sorts, those practice PT sessions felt soooooo good!

But having to drink a ton of water (ACK!) was not a part of what we experienced!

I've had two massages in my life LOL....the first 5 years ago resulted in an allergic reaction to the creams they used so was fun at the time but a nightmare later lol!! Don't know why but I was brave enough to try again this past year and had them use hypoallergenic products. Both my GF and I wound up with mild whiplash symptoms the next few days LOL....might be because we have both had chest surgery. I give up!!

But water, now, that would be hard to give up. I too used to hate water and rarely drank any. After I quit smoking, I realized tap water tastes BAD, like the taste of chlorine and other stuff. So I started filtering (Brita) it, even for cooking and making ice cubes. I love water now and happily guzzle (calorie-free) at least several tumblers a day of it. Good for the skin, digestion, and whatever else may ail ya... :)

I have a Britta. Still hate water! Even bottled. They can ship it in from Fiji...it's still water!

The first thing that I want when I come home from work is a big glass of ice water. I have no problem drinking eight glasses of water a day....love the stuff!

I'm a water lover also. COLD - very very COLD - drink lots of it.

Massages, I'm a big fan of them. Several years ago, after a car accident, my insurance actually paid for several massages. Boy, much as I hated that I needed the therapy - I almost hated when they told me it was over, as that meant the "free" massages ended also.
