Should explain a little more why I think keeping a S&B for the first year while one tries out RVing is something to be considered. For me, here in California, property prices are so high that it makes more sense to rent mine out rather than sell it. If RVing wasn't for me, I could always come back, sell this & buy something smaller because I kept up with the market. Don't know if that's the case in other parts of the country. While I was in business which was connected to real estate, many were moving from here to other parts of the country, especially the East coast. Often times those families found for one reason or another they didn't like where they landed & wanted to come back.... but couldn't afford it.
Again, I was only wanting to add my experience to what to think about...may not work for everyone, but for some it might give them something to contemplate.
Oh....and I did buy my RV online... it was 5 yrs. old but in brand new condition... paid the going price back then... think I got an excellent buy... but more than the $20K mentioned above. I think there has been a lot of posts on purchasing an RV....one just has to stay informed, check everything out & visit whatever dealers & RV shows there are around you... at least that gives one an idea of what there is available & what might work for them, etc., etc. There's one out there ... ya just have to find it !!!!
