Another tip to keep your grey water from stinking, I use those mesh screens in my kitchen sink to keep food particles out of the holding tank. Before I started using those little screens my grey water smelled worse than the black.

BIG x 2! I have one in the trailer, and also at the house. You can't believe all the hair in the guest bathtub it catches (all those teenagers with LONG hair) - stuff to clog up plumbing. I would never be without one.

Kelly and I are gonna work together to see what all we can get moved into the new trailer today. Have no idea what is going on with the ? power ? or the ? A/C ? in the trailer. :( Kelly and I stopped at the trailer last night after I picked her up from work, she flipped breakers and did the same things that I had done earlier and why?? I don't know ?? but the A/C did come on and start blowing cold air. It ran a few minutes then acted like it was dipping in power again so we shut it back off. But now at least I know that the fan or compressor is not fried!! WOOHOO!!!! I was really sick at the thought of a fried compressor. Sick to the point that I broke down crying in the middle of the grocery store and embarrassed the heck out of myself.   We did have a CG wide power dip yesterday here. It was hot and humid and I guess maybe everyone had their A/C's going but it even caused my window unit to kinda shut down. I only had to put a reset button on it to kick it back on. If the power in that new site isn't working right we will have to move the trailer but I'm hoping that we don't have to move! Why hope? I have no idea cause while I try to stay optimistic, I feel like I have a black stormy cloud hanging over my head all the freaking time anymore!! Honestly, I or we have one good thing happen to or for us and then it hits the fan again. Wondering here just how much bad luck can happen!!!! :o  :? ~sigh~ I have today and tomorrow to see how much we can get moved as I go back to work on Thursday. Tonight or tomorrow night I am gonna do the online application thing for WalMart. So keep your fingers crossed for me there, please!!! I am really fed up with asking to get out of the dish hole at the restaurant. Going back Thursday the schedule has me in dishes 4 nights in a row. And right now the park is doing Dollywood nights which means we don't close until 9pm. I still go in at 1pm but wont actually get off until 10pm. Gonna be some long days.

Kelly is out doing her CG job and called. She was actually at the trailer with Bill the maintenance guy. He checked the power out on the post and everything is reading good out there. He suggested calling the mobile repair guy to at least have him check out the A/C unit on the roof as he said that maybe it's a simple fix and needs servicing? So will be calling the repair guy and hope against hope that he actually calls us back this time!!! Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that it will be an easy fix!!!! We sure the heck can't afford an expensive one!

Kelly says she is gonna spend the night in the new trailer tonight as her air mattress is going wonky on her. It's holding air just fine but it's ? popping the seams apart. So that now she has a big bulge down the center of the mattress and it makes for uncomfortable sleeping.

I am a member of Coach Net & while reading this months magazine I noticed the following information regarding Rid-X....tried to scan & copy but can't get my programs to do that so I'm typing article. Hope it helps all of you.... 8-)

Dear RV Doctor:
I have lived out in the country for most of my life & always had a septic system. We have used Rid-X as an additive to promote enzyme growth in the tank. My question is, why can't or why don't people use this in the motorhome black water holding tank? I would think if it works in a septic tank, why not a holding tank? Thanks for all you do to help the RV travelers in the world.
(Beaver Dam, Wisc.)
This is a great question. Since Rid-X uses live bacteria, the preferred type of additive, it would indeed work inside a motorhome holding tank as well as the residential septic system for which it was designed. The problem is that you'd have to leave it in the tank quite awhile to be effective. Septic tanks should be treated monthly & Rid-X to my knowledge uses a time release formula that works well in septic tanks, but only over a period of time. Motorhome owners, on the other hand, are motivated to evacuate their holding tanks when they become 3/4 full. Often, that doesn't take very long. Further, formulas designed for RV holding tanks are far more concentrated so as to work quickly, taking less time. If you use Rid-X, you'd be dumping your holding tanks long before the beneficial action of the bacteria begins to work. Plus, you probably would use much less additive if you stick with an RV blend of bacteria & enzymes. One product I like is Pure Power Blue (PPB) by OP Products, because of its strong concentration. Not only does it eliminate odors, it also dissolves solids quite quickly.
So while Rid-X would work in theory, in a real-world RV application it would be futile. And don't forget, odors can also propagate in the gray tank as easily as in the solid waste tank.

Hope this helps answer Echo's problem....Interesting info....

Echo, when it's really hot out, many cg's don't have enough power for all the appliances, etc running - and the first one to go will be the ac. You need a simple device you plug into any outlet that reads the voltage. They've been talked about on here many times, and even the picture shown - so you should be able to find it here to know what I mean. They are inexpensive, but if you are not getting consistently enough power you need to turn off the high usage items. Sometimes running the fridge on gas will give you enough power to run the ac. BUT - if the entire area is suffering brownouts (and in the heat that's been happening, this can be the case) you can't blame the cg or the site. You claim you've had trouble with the little unit in your current trailer - sounds cg wide, if not city wide.

Here's a link that shows the simple one I use: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/it ... eter/29375

what Beth said, I agree, but also... if your unit has a dry mode function, it does kick of and on every 5 minutes to account for humidity.
here's an excerpt from the manual I had bookmarked for my ac unit.

1.7 Dry Mode Function
This operation effectively eliminates moisture by
operating the compressor and fan motor intermittently,
so that the room temperature is maintained at set
temperature. Compressor will be “on” for 5 minutes,
then “off” for 5 minutes. System fan motor will operate
on low speed.
NOTE
Unit determines DryMode by sensing Room Temperature
every 5 minutes (3 minute minimum operation
of compressor is not applied).

This manual has all the different a/c units in it for the Cameo and here is the link for that.....

hope you get it all sorted out

Well we've gotten some stuff moved. Not a whole lot but some. We get it up there and put it away and roast, then come back here to the old one, take a break and cool off. Am loving the fact that the fridge is working fine!! And that the freezer is freezing. Kelly says she is spending the night up in the new one no matter what. Said her air mattress is just to uncomfortable to sleep on now.

Calling the mobile repair guy is gonna have to wait until after we get paid. I checked our accounts and boy oh boy are we broke!  Good think I have a little money in my savings cause I had to transfer some into my checking as it was in the hole! I didn't see a penalty so I'm guessing that I covered the shortage in time.

I am grateful that we can kinda take our time moving stuff over into the new trailer. And with being broke that is a good thing! Cause now I know that I don't have the funds for a storage room to put the excess into. That's gonna have to wait till payday too. Dang it I really need to win the lottery! ;)

OK, back to grabbing and moving!

I'm with Beth, you NEED a voltage meter. I have one that I keep plugged into an inside outlet so I can constantly read what's going on. Also use an adapter to check the power pole BEFORE I ever plug my rig in. At the CG in Custer I found that the meter was only getting about 113 so inside was below 110, which is the magic number. If you run your AC when the voltage is below 110 you will burn out the compressor. The CG owner had to rewire the post and even then it was on the low side in midday when everyone turns on stuff. If I see that I'm getting below 110 I turn off the AC, no matter how hot it is. Can also monitor what you can run together. At this CG we NEVER ran the microwave, AC and toaster or coffee pot at the same time. The voltage meter runs around $18 to $20 and the adapter about $10. Cheap investment to save your rig's electrical stuff. I also unplug at the post during an electrical storm. Am sorry I sold my C with the surge protector. Saw a big class A lose everything electrical inside when lightening struck a transformer in the CG. The rig next to him with a surge protector lost nothing but the surge protector.

We are giving up for the day. We really need to get something to eat AND we really, really need to go do laundry!!! We both need clean clothes, especially for work.

Have gotten a lot of stuff transferred to the new trailer. But boy, do we still have lots of stuff in this older one. Have tossed out stuff that I have held on to since moving out of Maine so long ago. But now is the time to let go and get rid of the stuff. There are things that I am still holding on to and I'm hoping against hope that I can finally get it out of the boxes it has been stuffed into for so long and set it out to be enjoyed again.

Shoot! Got to go................

We're back. I feel stuffed to the gills! OMG, we were both so hungry. Kelly has decided that she's not doing laundry tonight but is gonna wait until tomorrow to do it. And as long as she isn't gonna do it tonight she has offered to do mine along with hers tomorrow while I'm working. Oh yeah!!! I'll let her do mine!  I hate going to the laundromat! It's funny. I know that we have taken a lot of stuff out but this trailer still seems stuffed. Most of all the stuff that has been move was stuff that was in the cabinets, closet, cubbies and what was under Kelly's air mattresses. I am working nights all week so I will have some time in the mornings to work here if I can get my motor running early enough.

  Looking around in here I don't think that there is more than 2" anywhere that does not have something on it. Gods I hate moving!!! ~sigh~ The end will be so worth it but the in-between is horrible! ;)
