NO COOKIES !!! WAAAAAAAH. Man I'll just have to break out the cinnamon rolls. Yeah, that's what I'll do. Vickie, will they work for you? Who ever wants please help yourself. Will also stay away from the fire and hot tub for now. Way to hot and humid. We have the warm moisture from the Gulf and a "cold front" from Canada and are in the cross hairs. It is way to humid to do anything outside. Took junk to the curb for the garbage truck and was dripping when I got back to the house. Rain will come this afternoon. Was going to spray the weeds and grass on the driveway, but with the forecast rain will have to wait. I feel so lazy when reading all that Soos plans to fill her day. :D

barbie, sounds like a really nice tent, even if it wasn't your first choice. You should get a lot us use out of it.
Lenora, I don't know how you do it without AC. Even a small window unit would help, even if you don't need it every summer. You must be sweltering with the house closed up in that heat. Stay cool, maybe let the fan blow over some ice too.

Everyone, stay cool as b est as you can, and those traveling, stay safe. Linda

Barbara, which tent did you end up getting? I like the coleman max myself,
and if I had the money I'd get one. So which one did you get?

Just for those that seem to be getting the munchies...I left some cookies in the tupperware tub sitting over with the dry wood under the lean to..... You know, next to where Cedar used to always stash the extra bottle of wine right below the beer that Lori is always counting..... :) :) Help yourself. Whatever type of cookie you are craving, I am sure that it is in there.. :D

Call came in, SM is being transferred as we speak back to Herschel's favorite rehab center. I told him to check his schedule and let me know if he has enough energy to go back for a second visit after dinner. His tail wagged. I just got back from grooming Izzy's brother, Stuart. His girl will need to bath him and finish him up but he is well on his way to handsome!

Enjoy the cookies. Walk on down to the rig and raid the frig is you want some creme pops. At 20 cal a pop they can't be beat in the heat. :)

Well, since I wouldn't want to hurt Linda OR Tina's feelings, I guess I'll just have to have a cinnamon roll AND slip a cookie in a napkin for later. Got the yard mowed today, yep, it was hot out there, but since we didn't have any rain today, I figured I'd better get it done. So now I'll prop my feet up and admire the fire from a distance, might just have one of those bottles of beer while I'm at it.

Here's my new tent. It is 16' X 10', so very roomy! No porch, but enough room inside for a couple of chairs to relax in, and with the rainfly off, the whole roof is mesh, as well as most of the front, so will get lots of breeze thru there.

Still no computer so hope I don't lose this post before I finish.

Rags and I took a 6 mile walk on the bike trail this morning. Can only go so far before it is blocked by flood water. Got my black and gray water tanks emptied. Not a fun job, but wanted to get it done before the weekend campers get here.

Rags has a vet appt tomorrow so gave him a bath across the street, at the spigot. The water is cold so had to hurry. Just need to brush him out. One of the other custodians is a groomer. She wants me to go to the shop with her one day and bring Rags and Gizmo. She will show me how to groom them properly. I think I do fine, but she is a professional and thinks otherwise. She said I can make money at parks in the winter bathing dogs if she shows me how to do it quickly. Will be interesting to see what I've been doing wrong for all these years!

I loaded up my bike in the truck today and parked outside of the gate to my recreation area. I rode my bike all through it to see what damage the flood did. I didn't look as bad as I expected. There is a lot of standing water in the low spots, though. My flower bed is trashed! The comfort stations don't look too difficult to clean up. I hope they can get he power and water back on so I can get back to work and move back "home".

A volunteer came by the other night to interview me for our weekly newsletter. She came by again tonight to have me check over her article.

A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow night. It's her birthday today so told her we could have a fire and cook dinner over the fire and have a drink. Maybe a s'more, too; -)

I see you got your tent waterproofed, Barbie, and finally received your air bed. I'm really looking forward to our gtg!!!

Time to take Rags out and have my cup of camomile tea before turning in. Some cookies would be good, but I had peach frozen yogurt with fresh strawberries for dessert tonight. Sure hope s'mores will satisfy your chocolate chip cookie addiction, Barbie! Otherwise, I hope you can bake them in the microwave oven or over the fire. Don't really like to heat up Myrtle with the oven in the summer. We will have all winter to do that; -)

Linda, S'Mores are an acceptable substitute for chocolate chip cookies :D I sure wish I could spend more time down there than just two and a half days! Can't wait!

Turns out she has a bleeding ucler (I'll be next!). She was back to work today and feeling better. My manager left shortly after I got there so I was able to relax after that! I am a nervous wreck before I go into work when I know she's gonna be there. I hate feeling like that! I keep trying to tell myself not to let her get to me like that, but I still do. I guess I am just too sensitive to how people treat me. I grew up with a lot of undeserved criticism, so that is hard to get over, even at my age

Good to hear from you Linda and that your life may soon return to normal. I'd be interested in the quick bath tips your groomer friend might have especially since all mine are furry & two aren't fond of baths.
Your tent looks great Barbie. I'll be happy when you can tell your terrible boss goodbye, she must have a lot of bad stuff going on in her life to be so unpleasant. Maye you could also report her for no breaks or lunch time, after you are long gone of course.
I brought some watermelon and cantaloupe to the campfire tonight, there is some vanilla ice cream to go with the cantaloupe, eat it quick before it melts.

Barbie, hope your not on the path for an ulcer just for a job. By law you are required to have a break and a lunch period if you are working 8 hrs/day. Linda, glad you are OK and hope the CG's water recedes quickly and you can get back to work. Redetotry, thanks for the cantaloupe and ice cream, with a side of snowball's cookies, nice for lunch. YUMMY Linda

In answer to Linda's question as to why I don't get a small window AC unit. All my windows in my home are the slider kind that slide from left to right, Not the sash type. A window unit would have to be retro fitted and we just don't have enough "HOT" days out here to warrant the expense. I did check into the portable AC units but they have to be exhausted out a window with that accordian type hose (dryer hose stuff) so I'd had to jerry rig something up again. ;)

Today I finally got to Barns and Noble to check out the Nook. Me no likey! ;) It is slower than the Kindle and isn't as user friendly. Also as I don't often visit bookstores/libraries or havig to frequent places just for the WiFi, that is a con for me. I did stop at Target and looked at the Kindle. It is much lighter, but they didn't have the dislpay set up so that I could actually play with it, so I'm not sure of all the features etc. I do use Kindle on my computer and iPhone so am familiar with most of how to use it. BTW Target was all out of stock! Still haven't made up my mind to get one, but love checking them all out.

Well, my manager called me into her office this afternoon. I thought "Oh no, now what did I do wrong??". Well, apparently, quite a few things. I won't go into the boring details, but it was all piddly crap and nit picky stuff. She never says anything positive about what I am doing, just rags on me. One thing she said is I don't section off my haircuts. I haven't done that since I left school. I don't need to and it takes too much time. She said it is a requirement of GC's. I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I never have anyone come back for a redo on my cuts so I must be doing it right my way! (When I went thru GC's training they never said that was a requirement, just a suggestion.)

I have been sneaking a bottle of water into my cabinet at my station (not allowed) so I can get a drink once in awhile without going to the back room. I did get 10 minutes for dinner tonight. I sure won't feel bad about leaving that shop! Hopefully, the shops in California are a little more layed back!

Glad I had a nice relaxing massage this morning, or I would have been really stressed out about it.
Gotta make some cookies yet tonight. They always make me happy! :D I am SO ready for my camping trip!!!

I will share my cookies tonight with all my friends here, and Mitch too! :D
