Well...everyone has said some of the things I was thinking...so I (being limited by brain cells not multiplying) can't add anything profound other than, you are in my prayers every day.... and I'm right there for a blubber & wine party... it helps to calm all that crap that settles in your mind that one worries about.... Good crying session just wears ya out & then the wine just gives ya the energy to get mad & say..... this ain't gonna worry me cause I'm gonna get through it no matter what !!! Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.... sending you strength & perseverance.... you'll get through this fine....you'll see !! ;)

A few minutes ago I had a boob discussion with my partner who, being a man, does not have them. His insight was profound. First he said for anyone facing that kind of surgery (he's a neurosurgeon) he would suggest "letting your spirit heal" before considering reconstruction. I loved that. He also said if I were the one having the surgery he would not be dismayed if I decided against reconstruction, that I was more important to him than that. He said for now that you should just "float" and give yourself a break from fear. This from a guy who has his fingers in brains all day.

Myself, I think that after the child-bearing years are over the boobies should at least shrink! They've done their job! Of course men would not agree...

Mitch, love your new Avatar, but sorry about why it changed. I wish I had had both removed because it has been 17 years since my lumpectomy and I still worry the cancer will return in the other breast. Also wish I had had the reconstruction years ago. You have a strong will and will get yourself through this. However, tears will come at times. It is such a scary time. If necessary, you can take anxiety medicine to calm your worries. I also wish I had gone thru physical therapy since my lymph nodes were removed under my arm - in fact, my arm gave me my most grief.

Hang in there, you are one tough broad! And drink lots of wine.

I'm sure Vickie likes dealing with less hair but I loved her long hair. I have always wanted long hair but the longer mine gets the wilder it gets. I would even try straightening it in college. My younger son and grandson got my hair. Poor kids.

There has been a lot of talk on here about cup size and no bra. Tuesday one of the woman on this tour had on a bright yellow shirt that I can't think of the name of the style but the back has no fabric at the shoulder blades, just up the middle. She's in her 60s at least and fairly well endowed. However, the front had ruffles so nothing was obvious - other than I thought she looked ridiculous.

I ended up across from her today and she was wearing a white t-shirt and obviously no bra - weren't nothin' left to the imagination under that thin shirt. So, you all just get over it and go braless no matter if you are larger than a 'B'!!
