Damn----cancer just plain sucks. Sometimes I wonder about the difference between a sudden heart attack or stroke, or the knowledge about one's ill health in advance. I am thinking that perhaps for friends, the sudden attack would be more shocking and unbelievable and devastating than the pre-knowledge. But for those with the bad prognosis, I just can't fathom those feelings. I am sending Carole all the strength and healing powers I can muster, and hoping the latest chemo treatments will not be so agonizing that she can't travel and enjoy meeting more of us. I would love to see her in FL this winter, as well as meeting you and the 4-footers. I hope you can come to grips with the latest news, as well, and can enjoy every living minute with your friend, savoring each and every shared laugh and fun times.
