The ham was out of this world delicious! I used the cherrywood chips. I'll never eat plain ham again! :D
Mike can't wait to get his smoker, he already has a recipe he wants to try....some kind of fish he has in the freezer that he caught, covered with peppers and onions and smoked with the cherrywood. Sounds good to me! Katy suggested throwing in some zuchini along with it and he went for it.

Sharon, did your little smoker hold enough for all 3 of you at once, or did you have to do it in batches? I know the grid piece takes up a lot of vertical room, but I've put in larger items without using the grid...

YUMMO!

I just stacked 5 slices on the grid, worked out perfectly. Never thought of not using the grid, good idea! Thanks!

Enjoy your visit with the dufus!

I absolutely love my li'l smoker. Thanks Sharon. I've done ribs, salmon so far and they have been terrific. Can't wait to do some more. I'll probably, no I will have, it at the FL gtg so we can all try something on it. Mitch, you got all this started.

Ok, I couldn't stand it any longer I order mine! My DH will laugh and say he is running out of room on the unused kitchen items shelf in the basement. I'll tell him I ordered it for him to use since he doesn't have any luck with outdoor grills.

Where can I find Sharon's reciipe for SSS? Not that DH would eat salmon anyway but grilled, but I would! Also, the cooking times are so short, how do you tell when things like pork chops are done?

Okay, I got it! All of this talk about the smoker made my mouth water and I just jumped right online and ordered it without thinking about the fact that I am NOT a cook! Now what am I supposed to do with it? Mitch and Sharon – how about posting some of your recipes and helpful hints on using the smoker? They would be greatly appreciated!

I could wait until the Florida GTG and try to get some suggestions but I would really like to try it sooner. :P :P

Thanks,

Bonnie

Sharon just took two WILD CAUGHT salmon filets from WallyWorld, smoked them in hickory chips, flaked them, put in some finely chopped onions and added mayo. Mine, with WILD CAUGHT, turned out great, too. I used homemade mayo.

When she made it with farm raised salmon, it was no where near as good, although I think she said a day or so later, it was better.

I brined (sugar and water) my chicken breasts. They were delicious - very moist and tender.

I can't tell you about times. I'd err on the side of under cuz you can always put them back to finish (the chips have finished burning by then)

My only advice would be use less chips than you think.

Oh, I've done veggies and something else (can't remember what) I built a little "boat" out of tin foil to hold it.

The salmon, without making spread, is wonderful also. BJ, your honey might like it...make him at least give it a try.

I just thought of something - I think I'll try some sausage! Like hot italian...hmmmmm.

Another tip - Don't forget the piece of foil to line/cover the drip pan. Makes clean-up a breeze.

That's all for now. Over and out. That's a roger, Roger. (gosh, I loved that movie...)

I added the little one to my cart on Amazon. IF I get rid of a few other things on board AND make some money - that'll be my Christmas present to myself. I might not cook fancy, but that appears to be easy and if it makes my dinners more tasty, worthwhile. So many great testimonials here - I just can't imagine not liking it.
