Welcome to the real world of RVing. Even the brand new units have problems. All you can do is remain calm (wine certainly helps) and work thru each problem as it comes along. It is a learning experience. Hope you get the starting problem resolved. Soon you'll be enjoying your new RV and new adventures.

Sarah, once I get back from Texas (and out of whatever rv repair shop is in my future), we could meet up for a little mini camp out if you like. I'm anxious to see your new rv!

Congrats on your new adventure. Do NOT let Camping World get by without fixing Magic. Move into their parking lot if necessary. Refuse to go home. Matter of fact, their parking lot is a great place to do your shake down list. No item is too minor to complain about. They should of gone over the rig with a fine tooth comb as part of the pre delivery inspection.

Heck.. don't listen to me or you will be living in rv shops and have a drawer in the kitchen full of Mobile RV Repair business cards.

Relax and enjoy... that's what its really about.

Congratulations on taking ownership of Magic.

I am happy Nan is with you to share the joys and the bumps along the way. The bumps will only make you a "stronger" rver.

Botton line: Enjoy (the good and the bad) every minute of your time with Magic! It is all a wonderful journey.

Welcome to the wonderful world of rv'ing Sarah!! You HAVE been reading of our adventures and mis-adventures all of these years, haven't you??? You should have been prepared with a copy of Murphy's Law in your hot little hand!! It'll all get fixed in due time and hopefully with a minimun of frustration, and then you'll be on your way! Sarah, glad you have Nan there to help you thru the problems. It is nice to have some one more experienced than you along to walk you thru stuff.

Just know it is like your house or you car. Crap will happen with no rhyme or reason.

I just took my rig in because the dinette slide would give me an error code. I called the factory and they walked me through the slide problem and said if it happens again, you need to take it in for service. So the second time and 150 miles farther south it happened again. That was the one month anniversary of ownership. Remember Suite Pea, too, is new. So just know....stuff will happen. We just don't all tell everything that happens.

Ride with it and you know that you can ask questions but the answers may not fit. Nan has been down the road. You have warranty on the rig, so don't run it off the mountain top because they won't believe you if you say "but it jumped". The ride has started so hang on!!

So let us hear from you when you are down off the clouds a bit. I am really excited for you and know how excited and nervous you are. So let us give you any support that you want from us.

Congratulation on Magic. What a baptism by fire. As the others said, it is a good thing that Nan is with you and that she had the wine.
Question to all: I have not closely followed the thread, but can this happen to brandnew RVs? I will be in the market for a used one and wonder if one gets some type of warranty when purchasing a used RV. Tatjana

It can happen with any RV. They are just like a house. They will always need maintenance and repair. But sure shouldn't right off the lot!

You can get a warranty on a used RV if it isn't too old but do a lot of research on the company before you get one. Depending on what the problem is they might want maintenance records which you won't have. The only one I ever had was a PIA to deal with. I would just put the money in an account for repairs.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. Must admit other than a bit nerve racking, the first few days have not been as bad as I had imagined. Now I need warm sunshine to come back and get to studying the manuals so I'm not so intimidated about touching stuff and punching buttons. Would be nice to have a little heat without alarms.

Two words--electric heater! Get a small, cheap one at Walmart, it's all you will need most of the time unless you are boondocking.

OMG!!! I must be more stressed than I realized. One of the things I brought from home was a small ceramic heater;the box was stored under the rig. I still need to figure out how to use the RV heater without alarms sounding but now I can deal with that later. My little ceramic heater is purring away and my teeth are no longer chattering.
Know you are laughing at this novice but remember I'm not just a novice at this: I have absolutely no experience with camping of any sort and the sum total of my knowledge is pretty much what I've read on here or observed by attending a few gtgs where I stayed in a cabin. I'll get there but the learning curve is a very steep one for me. Guess it could be a good test to see if almost 70 year old dog can learn new tricks.
