Enjoyed the photos.

A couple of questions for you: 1) Do you use a generator when boondocking? 2) Do you unhook your TT from your truck in will only be there for a night or two?

Thanks.

Yes, I use a Honda 3000 generator. I make sure to run it at least two hours each night and one hour in the AM to be sure my battery stays well charged. I keep the generator chained inside the truck. In some boondocking areas they are stolen alot, so I am told by those who have gone before me. If your battery should get low and your slide won't go in then you can crank up the generator and, of course, that will power your slide and anything else you may need.

I won't unhook the truck from the trailer for one or even two nights (unless I need the truck for exploring the area). BUT I NEVER FORGET TO UNPLUG as the trailer will drain the truck battery if left unplugged from the truck. And since there is only one of me I don't always lower my jacks either...suppose that's just plain lazy. I always set my trucks emergency break so that the "transmission gear teeth" aren't the only thing holding the truck still from the movement of the trailer as I am in it.

You might want to put the tongue jack down, though, just to take some of the load off of your truck. Just remember to put it up when you're ready to roll. ;)

Oh, yes, that is a good idea...poor ol truck

Fanastic pictures, Kathy! I am so happy to see you posting again as I enjoy both your pics and your descriptions of things as you meander along the roads! Thanks for taking the time (and it sure does take time!) to do this for us all!

Yea, I think the photo bucket effort is just too time consuming...sorta cumbersome, it was part of the reason I fell away from posting...always thought, "I don't have time right now so will do it later...and later just kept getting farther away". I am going to try to be a big girl and do more photos..I am in Quartzsite now so I have all the time in the world....

Well, if you're still there in Jan we'll have to try and GTG. Several of us are there for the rv show end of Jan. Jenny and Sheila, Evie, me...maybe more.

Yes, I am paid up through April so I will be here. Although, I had considered heading to Imperial Dam area during the crowded Jan/Feb times in Quartzsite since I hear the traffic backs up for several miles getting into Q. That doesn't sound too cool. But for now, I have a spot up higher in the LaPosa LTVA (who would have guessed there is any incline in here, but there is) I am hugged up near the mountains and can see 80 miles to the north and down onto the town intself. A very nice spot. No one is around me at all....yet...just me and the cacti. A get-together does sound fun, if you have room for a fat ol desert rat by that time, hopefully I will still be sane, I heard the desert does strange things to people...yikes!

Wouldn't it be the funniest thing if I had taken your favorite spot!! But that's pretty doubtful, you probably think I am nuts but I have camped 3.3 miles up road 615. I am the only one up here and I am loving that so far....met my closest neighbor yesterday, took a photo of her, I am sure she'll still be here when you arrive.

I'm sure she will think you past our spot as you went East..or is it south east never for sure
enjoyed your picture...last year the 'ranger' was telling us that some one went in and was loading
up two flat beds with 12 dead saguaros they were going to use them as yard decor' 12? lots of land
I guess! There was a hefty fine like a 1,000 per cactus. The vegetation just amazes me out in the
desert..Take care

Makes you wonder what they were "really" using the dead saguaros for...they decompose quickly and "a yard ornament they do not make". I did notice how many dead ones laying on the ground there were on my way in. These desert plants are so filled with spiny defenses, all the trees and bushes have thorns and it's funny the deserts seems so quiet and the need for such defenses is a mystery, the only thing that seems to move around here is the breeze.
