Oh I can commiserate with you. I had a very small gall stone lodged in a bile duct about 10 years ago and ended up in the hospital over night. Thought I was going to have to get better to die! Labor and delivery was a piece of cake compared to the pain I experienced from that! Then poof it passed and the pain was gone. I've heard that kidney stones are worse...don't care to find out!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Glad the pain is gone, and hope that's the end of the story. Do take a few days to pamper yourself. Midnight trips to the ER are very stressful.

Did they do the cat scan? At least you want to know if you still have this kidney stone and if there are any others sitting in your kidneys so you will know to expect them to pass also.

I have had several kidney stones over the past 35 years, and I always carry some pain meds in case I have problems out in the boondocks. I passed my first kidney stone, except I didn't know it at the time, at Dinosaur National Monument in northeast Utah. Couldn't have picked a worse place, especially since we also had a flat tire. The horrible pain finally went away after several hours, and by the time we got to the next big city it was gone, so I never did stop to get it checked out.

A couple of strong pain killers and drinking a ton of water will at least give you time to get to a hospital if you have problems in the middle of nowhere!

I have a great deal of pity for you. I suffered from kidney stones from 22 years old until about 40 years and then they stopped (knock on wood). I think 7 of them. From little ones that passed to a monster one that required surgery before they had the liposomething or other to smash them. I always thought that it hurt more than having a baby and there was no cute & cuddily after it was over. The stones leave little lasting effects when they're gone. The meds might. Both my son and daughter suffer from them from time to time. Why do they always inherit the bad stuff?

Pooker, I sure hope you're feeling better.
