Thanks, but I did find the pans. They are not making them right now, so it wasn't easy, but I even found some on clearance.

A couple additions to my rv kitchen over the years that I wouldn't want to be without in any kitchen - my micro hard-boiled egg cooker and my micro Fasta Pasta. I love both of them. Thought of this thread when I boiled eggs today.

I looked up the egg cooker and pasta fasta, and put it on my Amazon list. Thanks. I might even try those now so I don't have to dirty pans--not that I run my dishwasher more than once a week right now.

I've already got the wine opener on my list, along with the wine corker and wine glass "charms."

I can see my one splurge, space-wise, will be 4 each of real wine glasses, champagne glasses, and cordial glasses! Got to have enough to entertain. I have some nice, but on-sale and inexpensive ones from Pier One. My older son lives with his family in Napa, CA, so I always stock up when I am out there. Even if I don't drink it all, a special bottle of wine you can only buy at the winery always makes a nice gift.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Beth, can you please share more about the hardboiled egg cooker?
What it looks like and how it's used in the microwave?

About the real wine glasses - had them in my RV but both have since broken. Now use plastic ones. LOL I also use plastic, throw away 18 oz. plastic cups for sodas, water, etc., and have Corelle dishes, bowls, cups but most important have a good supply of paper plates & plastic utensils too!!

That hard boiled egg cooker sounds like a neat gadget. We usually boil 3-4 eggs before leaving on a trip and use those for egg salad sandwiches. YUMMY

Here you go, Lenora: Nordic Ware 64802 Microwave Egg CookerImage
This egg cooker is WONDERFUL. Everyone who has borrowed mine has bought one. You fill the bottom to the line in it with water. You place 4 eggs in the appropriate places, put on the lid and place in the microwave. In my microwave, 8 minutes makes perfect hard-boiled eggs. It comes with instructions so you can do soft, med, hard-boiled. Of course, each microwave varies a tad. When I remove them - it's HOT - so don't try to remove this from the microwave without pads. I set it in the sink for a few minutes. These eggs will peel easier than any hard-boiled egg you've ever done! Guaranteed. Ha, they should pay me :) Old or new eggs.

Needless to say - I'm sold on this thing. I think it was Barbzeee who first told me about it. Anyway - I wouldn't want to be without it.

I love my egg cooker, too. I also could not live without my micro rice cooker. I use it to steam cauliflower and broccoli, cook potatoes to mash, heat soup, cook pasta, etc, etc. Got it at Walmart.

You ladies are giving me some great ideas!

How about a hand-held blender?

George LOVES the egg cooker...that's about all he remembers how to use in the kitchen, and he does his soft boiled eggs every Wednesday come hell or high water! :) Once, I took his eggs out for him when I got up before him and the temp changed to more like room temp, instead of straight out of the fridge. They were hard cooked. He was mad. I haven't made THAT mistake again...

Karen, which microwave rice cooker do you have and love? (there were a whole bunch on Amazon...)

I will probably get some Corelle, but I am all for paper plates and paper cups.

About 6 years ago, I got a dozen of each of wine glasses, champagne glasses, and water goblets, all for $1.99 each at Pier One Imports on closout sale. I figured I would get a lot because they were so cheap and I might need them when I entertained, which I never did do. So for the price and considering how many I have, I won't get upset if they break. I got some not quite so cheap, really cute, tiny cordial glasses also because I like a particular Madeira from Napa. Best part of Madeira or other sherries or port wines is that you can open them and they last forever opened--nice for someone who lives alone and wants a very occasional nightcap.

Thanks for listing the specific egg cooker. I put it on my shopping list at Amazon.

Anyone have any recommendations for a hand-held mixer? Did you mean the kind that you stick in a drink, as opposed to the kind you would use to make a cake?

AlmostThere, you mentioned something about your Magic Bullet. Does it chop nuts and stuff other than make smoothies? Any specific model recommendations?

I have the Fasta Pasta thing too, and it works great! Will have to try the egg cooker too.

Here is something that I came across awhile back but haven't bought yet. Corningware makes lightweight cooking dishes now called Simply Light, but you can only get them online. They come with glass and plastic covers. They are half the weight of the normal Corningware.

I'm wondering about a magic bullet or similar. We use our full-size blender for smoothies and a few other things very occassionally. Needs replaced, so I'm thinking something small for the RV... ideas?
