Random generosity? Random kindness?

Talk about anything under the sun! Just remember to be respectful of others.

Even more food, Echo? God is really watching over you!!! Joe (a camp host here) gave me a piece of pecan pie yesterday. Yum! The Chaplain, next door, brought me 2 slices of pumpkin pie. I can't help but think of all of the leftovers that people will throw in the garbage when people are hungry. If anyone has too much food, please take it to someone who is struggling to make ends meet. Most places have an area where homeless congregate and they are always happy to get food. I even shared my snacks I had with me for kayaking last winter with a group of homeless guys. They were really appreciative and gave me a pair of aqua boots (for lack of the proper name) in exchange. I helped cook Christmas dinner at a private homeless shelter and they had tons of food donations. They really needed money to get some permit they needed so gave them money. Churches always have a list of families or individuals who need help at the holidays. As for the women's shelters...They will tell you what they are in need of if you call. I have donated clothing, winter coats, and cell phones. Some of them will only take a few bags of clothing if they don't have the storage space. There are also group homes for kids and teen shelters.

As for those below 0 temps...I'm counting my blessings  We are supposed to possibly have the 4th coldest night on record tonight and that is maybe +30. For 3 winters now I have managed to be where there is unseasonably cold weather. Where is that global warming? I pray you all are warm and have a full tummy ;)

Thanks for sharing your blessing gifts. I'm a big believer in "pass it along" - whether one can do that right away or years later doesn't matter as long as it gets done.
One of my nieces was a struggling single mom when her son was young and she truly had no money for Christmas anything. She registered him for an "Angle Tree" and he was adopted. He got an impressive array of toys and clothes. We were all so impressed we have since made it a family project to adopt at least one of the Angles from the trees each year. For past several years we have also adopted a senior who is without other family. You don't get to know or meet the children from Angle tree but with the senior's permission, you are allowed to visit them (most are in nursing homes or the like and rarely have visitors).
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!
