Prayers being said for you all !!! A terrible thing to deal with, I don't even want to think of how horrible it has to be. You, my friend, need to get away and rescue yourself from the situation. Making your new place liveable sounds like a good way to do this. Get your mind into life matters, instead of being around the sorrow, you can't help her with.
I loved the pics you put in of your new home. Waiting for the after ones, when you have really made it yours. So get busy !!

Thanks for all the support. My roomie's granddaughter (it was her father who died) will be getting married on the 18th. Roomie's daughter will arrive on Tuesday for a week or so ... and I'm using that as a "graceful" excuse for fleeing like a cockroach in the light.

I told roomie she could sleep in my bedroom on the main and her daughter could have roomie's basement bedroom.

I posted on Facebook that I got a collection of "loud" paint colors for the condo. I'll take those with me and try to figure out how I'd like to repaint the place.
