Ali, when you said you were trying to find a yoke locally, I read it as local yokel. But that's just me!

And Carol's right ... the best part of driving a big motor home is watching the guys' eyes pop out (and not JUST 'cuz I'm a babe!).

At gas stations I like to hop out the driver's door ('cuz I have one -- a lot of rigs don't) for effect.

But I'll tell ya, it's the WOMEN who ask, "How do you ..." "Aren't you scared ..." AND "... all by YOURSELF?"

Heck, it's gotta be easy if men can do it. :P

So glad that the MH is fixed, sorry about the cost.

Even more glad that you are now determined to learn how to drive it. It's so much better when both know how to drive, hook up and disconnect everything. Ya just never know when the knowledge will be necessary and needed!!! Good for you Ali!! You go girl.

And Janice is right. If a man can do it? A woman can do it too and for the most part do it a whole heck of a lot better!!!!

Hi Ally,
I'm new on here but found your posts "gripping"!!! I live in Wenatchee, am planning to buy an 'older' Class C/B in June so your posts are very good for me to hear, and I am so sorry you have had [apparently] many issues with yours. I wanted to share also that I just bought a DVD and watched it - it was very informative and explained the turning, the technicalities of where the wheels need to be, your mirrors, all the critical stuff. I think it was $22 but I highly recommend it to you. It is called "Drive Your Motorhome Like a Pro" and published by 'RV Education 101' and the instructor is Mark Polk along with Lorrin Walsh. It is an hour long and I was amazed at how many things one has to know and use simultaneously - especially like making sharp turns, how to pull out then back in to 'clear the path around you', etc.

I suppose your bill could have been a lot worse but that still hurts. It is the waiting and feeling stranded, trapped that would be the hardest for me. I don't know anything about you except your post but someday we may cross paths, say on 20? 2? : ) I hope things settle down for you soon and you both can go back to relaxing and enjoying yourselves again.

Any warnings or advice I'm way open to if and when you're up to it.
Take care,
Joy in Wenatchee
