Kimberly, with your history coming out in bits and pieces, I can only imagine what sorts of horror you must have been going through lately. Staying at Jellystones sounds like a superb idea for this time of your life, and the activities offered to Sarah will help her to heal from the trauma, as well. Play is one of the best healing potions known to man!
I would love to know if campgrounds would be willing to have you present helper dog programs...it is definitely an activity I would attend, for sure. It always amazes me when I see TV programs showing these fantastic dogs doing what they do for people unable to do for themselves. My son's girlfriend's parents are both blind, (not genetic causes) and have a guide dog (I can see a need for two as they each need one) who fascinates me when they visit. I say put out some feelers, especially in campgrounds that cater to kids, as they are always so interested in watching animals and learning what they can be trained to do.
As for gallbladder surgery, the new scope procedure is such a piece of cake! I had mine removed a few years ago now, after excruciating pain caused by stones in it. I thought I was dying a couple of times before I consented to the surgery, and I have never regretted getting it done! The recuperation period is so much shorter than the old type of surgery. About the only pain I had at all was from the trapped air they pump into your cavity so they can see to manoever around in there! It rises to under your collar bone, and can be uncomfortable for a day, or so until it gets absorbed, and it was pain I never expected as they didn't tell me about it! I couldn't imagine why I felt pain so high up when my teeny little incisions were down by where my gallbladder had been!
You will love the western parts of PA with the country farms and horses and wagons...Lancaster is a pretty place, especially when you are not in a hurry to get someplace. My brother lives in Paoli, which is nearby, and I often take drives to visit the gift and craft shops out that way.
Anyway, happy to hear that things are coming together for you and your daughter and your 4-footers!
