I have metal mini's in my Casita and I really don't like them. Much too easy to bend and as said, very hard to clean.
I did have a reflective tint put on my rig, so the day time I can see out and no one can see in. I love that. At night however, if there is a light on, you can see in, I don't like that. However, the material also is a great help in summer time heat out and cool in as well as winter time cool out and heat in. The other neat thing is that it does serve as a night light block - I sometimes have difficulty getting to sleep when light is shining in thru the windows. (You know how it is, if there is one light out there it will be positioned for the one person who has night light aversion
). This has made a great deal of difference in my rig. I had thought about the day/night shades but with the reflective I no longer need that plus they would have been quite expensive. I saw Karen's (retiredhappy) celluar and really like the bedroom one which is one of the bottom up or top down. That is really worth considering - and the colors - choose what you want/like/need.
I think it is fun to see and hear what other folks have done to their rig. You get ideas that never occurred to you before
