Karen, I didn't exactly love Shirataki noodles tne first time I tried them, but I learned to wash them very well, until that Shirataki smell was gone, and followed directions exactly! Times and products have evolved. The Livovi brand, which I now buy, has oat fiber in them. No longer the Shirataki smell like it was. Slight odor before you wash them, but taste and texture way better than the original brands that came on market. They come in a angel hair spaghetti shape, a rice shape, and the rigatoni, which is my favorite. While I do not use them even weekly, due to the carbs ( which due to fiber, net carbs are pretty low), they are a occasional good option. If my son wants spaghetti, I can have a serving with my Livovi spaghetti and be happy. Or for 4th of July use the Rigatoni shape and make macaroni salad. They also make a Fettucine shape. Same company also makes a black bean pasta, but I don't eat beans. Since I absolutely can't eat grains, this is a tolerable occasional option that's acceptable to me.
