Thank you for the kind words, Jean.
Carol, the fashion show will have to wait as I had to box and mail the new clothes home. I didn't want to purchase a second suitcase which I'd probably never use again. I travel with one carry-on bag, have for years.
I flew home today, arriving around 2pm. My how mail piles up in just 9 days!
I also got on the scale and was pleased that it read 154 so my weight has stayed the same.
Oh, the airport TSA guy searched my carry-on and said my can of hair spray and bottle of port was illegal so had to be escorted out of the security gate area and then checked in the carry-on. When I opened the case at home my hand mirror was shattered, but the wine is A-OK! :D

5 of 10 gone! I've decided to rest on my laurels for a couple of weeks, maintaining that weight loss and then I'll kick in and go for the last 5lbs.

I cut pop totally out of my diet years and years ago - as I hated diet pop and knew I didn't need all that sugar. Lo and behold, while they are saying how bad even diet soda is - I added it back in now that Diet Rite makes these delicious ones with no caffeine and using Splenda.

That said, after I posted in the morning thread the other day that I needed to borrow Sparkle's scale, lo and behold it was delivered to my rv door :) - Weighed myself the next morning and I'm down 4 lbs since Sparkle and I started out trip. Ate poorly yesterday (or should I say well, lol) and have hit the cookies in my cupboard today, but I've already walked about 5 miles, and if I can convince myself this afternoon, will do the 3 1/2 mile trek around the campground this afternoon. Hopefully that takes care of the cookies!

I'm really happy about the 4 lb loss. Only about 7 to go for this goal - then I'll want to lose 10 or so more if I can keep it up.

I just remembered that losing a certain amount of weight, then maintaining it for a couple of weeks before starting to diet again is part of the Set Point Diet. Our bodies want to be a certain weight, we argue with it and the bod fights back. I want my Set Point to be where I am now, then I'll lower the Point. (The best laid plans go aft agly)

Beth & Sparkle, Great going!!! Yep, the lbs. seem to melt away if exercise is involved. ;) All that walking I did in CA while shopping helped me, I know.
I did pretty good yesterday with Easter dinner at my daughter's. 1 slice of ham, one cube of yam, one small scoop of wild rice, several asparagas spears and broccoli flowerettes and green salad. No dessert (actually none offered cause she was baking it afterward as she was having friends over just for dessert and I left early). I did watch her make Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes in little ramikins. Wow, lots of chocolate, eggs and butter in those!

Well, I have officially declared today to be my very own "Start Eating Right You Fat Hog" day! Actually, I'm not calling it a "diet", I'm going to work hard on changing my eating habits...smaller portions, better choices, and MORE WATER!

Beth, all that walking is doing you good!

Lenora, I'm so glad for you that you have lost it and got the new wardrobe to prove it!!!!

Everyone else, keep up the good work.

Congratulations to all who have lost weight and all who are starting. Food is a huge issue in all of our lives. I'm very thin but have to watch my sugar/carb intake and eat frequently or I get those shaky spells. Apparently that is a condition I think called hypoglycemia (or hyper) & can lead to diabetes so I am careful.

If anyone is having problems staying or starting on their diet or for those having sleep issues I am willing to do hypnosis (or if you want to call it mental imaging it is pretty much the same thing), for you. I think they are calling it mental imaging now as most people connect hypnosis with stage tricks. I would like to do this for the experience and of course there would be no charge.

I have taken classes for about four years at the local junior college taught by a man who has many many years of training. If you have a web cam, I know how to do iChat but could also do any of the others where we can see each other if you can direct me. I haven't tried it that way but the instructor says he doesn't see any reason it wouldn't work.

What I can also do is also teach you how to do self hypnosis and that is wonderful! I no longer have to take pain pills if I get a migraine as I can stop it with self hypnosis. I will explain the process so you will be comfortable. I have worked with people who are afraid of the dentist with good success. Also working with a nurse right now on sleep issues, he gets up and wanders around crashing into things. I will get a report this evening on his progress and do another session.

I stepped on the scale this morning, fully clothed, and with heavy boots and socks on, and discovered I weighed less than when I left when I weighed in naked! SOOOOO....must be that 8 lobsters at a sitting, TWICE, must be good for weight loss! OH that I could do that once a week back up here in the north country! Tomorrow, or tonight, when I get undressed, I'll check the scale to know for sure how much lost so far. No diet followed at ALL while on vacation for two weeks......amazing.

I am so easy to hypnotise! I love it. I think if a person is willing to let go it makes it easier to succumb.

I would LOVE to be able to hypnotize myself so I can go to the dentist without getting violently ill and getting nearly catatonic! Dentist chairs are like torture devices to my brain!

I was back to my goal weight (for the second time) this morning. Now to lose three more for wiggle room. I'd like to make that goal weight my "upper" limit, so need to lose a few more as my weight tends to fluctuate 2 to 3 pounds easily.

Had my official weigh-in this morning. It read 153.7 which is down about 1/2 lb from my last weigh-in 2 wks ago. I am now off stablization and on maintenance. I will weigh in once a week until Sept 14th. That's the end of my contract. I can pay for more weeks after that, but I'd like to think I would be ok on my own.

Speaking of dentists!?!? :o When I got home from vacation on Saturday I noticed my front, bottom crown was wiggly, but had to wait until yesterday to get in to see my dentist. That was at 6 pm last evening. After they x-rayed the tooth the Dr said the crown wasn't loose, but the tooth was broken just at the base of the crown. After much deliberation and conversation as to what to do, we decided to try the less expensive route. So he took off the crown and broken tooth, and then to have enough tooth left to put on another crown, he had to drill down the center of the tooth to implant a post and then cut away gum in order to have more tooth exposed for the crown to adhere to. I was kinda lucky in that after cutting the gum away I didn't continue to bleed after applying pressure for about 10 mins., so no sutures, but they did put a dental bandaide on it. It looks like I have a wad of pink bubble gum stuck to my bottom teeth and gums! That will hopefully stay on for a week when I'll go back and have it removed and my gums checked. I will have to wait until they heal before my permanent tooth will be put on. They put on a temporary crown for right now. There are no guarantees that this will hold up, so the Dr isn't charging me for the new crown and said total will cost around $400. The alternative for the implant is $4500, so fingers crossed that this will last a long time for me. I think my days of eating apples is over! lol I'll have to cut it in chunks first.
