Pat, I've never heard of that pie, so I googled the recipe. From the reviews, the filling is a custard of sorts. It sounds yummy! I've never made a meringue with brown sugar before, so I'm anxious to try that.

Wow, sour cream raisin pie! I haven't thought of that in many years! My mother made the very best sour cream raisin! Then along came the stupid (and now proven scientifically incorrect) push for low fat. There was a sour cream substitute called IMO which tasted somewhat close to the real stuff. My Mother developed a recipe for sour cream raisin pie using IMO. Eventually having gotten raves about it in town, she sent the recipe to the company. Luckily it was a company with integrity. They sent her like a lifetime supply of coupons for free cartons of IMO! Such a fun memory.
