A couple of years ago when I went to a GTG in the valley there were the small cabins or mobile homes all over the place on used lots. I think they were the small cabins like some of the campgrounds have. They are the kind a lot of the big resorts have. Getting one from South to North Texas probably wouldn't be cheap though. We were there in April which is after the snowbird season. I saw some advertised for $8,000 to $10,000.

Lived in Athens for a few years many, many moons ago. It's a nice town, clean, and booming from what I have seen in the last couple of years. It's known for the Black-eyed Pea festival but even moreso for the Old Fiddlers Reunion each year in May. That's a fun event with fiddlers of all ages playing on the courthouse square, dancing and lots of food. The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center is a big draw for families. The largest city nearby is Tyler about 30 or so minutes east and where I live. Lots of shopping, restaurants and it's considered the medical center for East Texas. You can go about 20 or so miles to Canton for the huge First Monday Trade Days every month or jump on I-20 in Canton and be at Town East Mall in Dallas in about an hour or so. You may already know about the area but, anyway, welcome to the neighborhood!
