Barbie, so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending strength and HUGS your way. Let go of as much stress as you can. I know it is easier said than done, but try. More HUGS. Linda

Barbie, neither one of us had a very nice Xmas. So sorry to hear about your Dad.
I drove to Healdsburg on the 24th, spending one night on the road. Got here this morning. Sharon, I have both Casey and Zipper with me. Listened to Christmas carols the entire way.
Was surprised how many were on the road the 24th.
The first thing Larry said to me "I don't want you to coddle me".
Having the camper is such a nice way to travel. And, while I am here, I can get out of their hair if they want to be alone.

so sorry to hear this news ...prayers of course...and a thought when they catch it that quickly
it seems to me that there is a better chance of recovery...isn't there a shot or something
that they can give when it's with in a certain amount of time?
all will be for the best I'm sure

Unfortunately, we/they could not determine when the stroke started and my dad was unable to answer any questions, so they were not able to give him the special blood thinner to help with the stroke. So we/they just have to wait and see what the long term affects are. Nothing much else that can be done at this point. He had some therapy today and was able to walk some but still having trouble with speech and coordination. He was more aware tho of what was going on than he was last night.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

My heart goes out to you, Barbie, and I'm sending lots of prayers! My mother is in a Care Center and has great difficulty speaking or thinking clearly and gets so frustrated because of it. It is very hard on both of you but just remember to take care of yourself, as well. God bless both of you!

God bless you and your family! If I understood you correctly, he was in the process of having the stroke when you picked him up? If so, although having a stroke is never a good thing, the outcome is vastly improved when it's caught early, so will be praying for a really good outcome for your dad.
Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.
