Hurrah for sounds! I'm glad the hearing aides came well before your trip.

I loudly second the see-the-doctor suggestion, if the swelling and pain are still severe when you're about to leave. I once got an insect bite on my finger while camping over the 4th of July weekend. I didn't want to go to urgent care for such a "trivial" thing. By the time I got home and saw my own doctor, it had an abscess to the bone. Nasty!
