Happy birthday, Char! Hope you have a great day. I'm tempted to steal your ice cream cake but will be good and leave it for you.

Well..... thank all of you for remembering me, appreciate the good wishes.... and nooo, I don't think I want to share my birthday cone.. it looks soooo good...thank you cake lady for posting such a delicious surprise.
Well, spent my birthday in Benicia with my son & his better half.... They made me a dinner of melt in your mouth beef roast, baked potatoes (she makes them different than I've ever tasted & they are really good....fresh salad with a all the good for you veggies, garlic buttered rolls and.......LOBSTER ! I love lobster but do not have any luck cooking it for myself... so I watched carefully how they prepared it....Bill broke the shells down the middle and Nannette heated up water mixed with beer... they then dropped the lobster tails in the boiling water/beer & cooked them till they turned pink.... out they came & onto our plates....Nannette made garlic butter heated to dip the lobster (or the beef) in.....was absolutely the best dinner I've had in years...I'm not much on eating out or going to fancy restaurants, so this was the very best way to spend my 'day'..... When I first got there my Son told me, Mom, I'm gonna tell you the rules.... if you want to rest, do it, if you want to eat, tell me, I'll make whatever you want... if you want to sit outside, go ahead.... In other words, do whatever makes you happy & comfortable....just relax... Want to stay in bed all day, go right ahead, want to watch TV....there's one in your room for you or join us in the Family room & we can watch things together...
I didn't have to wash a dish, clean off a table, make myself a drink, or cook or anything... What a way to spend a birthday.... so Yes, I had a really nice time visiting them & felt like I was special.... Everything was great except one of my brand new tires was almost flat when I got there..... didn't even realize that while driving....so Bill took the car & put air in it.... while it sat for 2 days it didn't seem to lose any air, but I was really nervous coming home.... our highways are really, really busy & often times there's no where to pull off... but I made it home okay.... will take car in to have tire checked tomorrow... OH Yeah!... My college kid Grandson sent me the most beautiful floral arrangement... feel bad cause I know he'll be eating macaroni & cheese now cause he must have spent a lot of $$$$ for these flowers.... they are beautiful..... Guess I'll quit rambling now........ one more thought... I'm sure you've all read the story of the old man living in a rest home that got himself all cleaned up & dressed in his best for his birthday, then went to sit on the front porch waiting for his son/daughter to come visit him on his day.... waited till dark & no one came.... thought that would be my birthday.... but it wasn't... thank you all for your wishes... they mean a lot.. :D

Happy belated birthday Char! :D Oh what a wonderful day you had--that's one heck of a good son!!! Hope the tire is fixed by now ;) , which seems like the only "kink" in your otherwise perfect day!
