I know now what I need and what works. The one I have isn't right. So, the hunt is on! Quiet is very important. Remote is good. Thanks to everyone for big response.
When we were looking for a space heater, lots of folks recommended the Pelonis HC-461, a ceramic disc furnace. We bought that for around $90 as well as a Lasko ceramic tower that I picked up for $37 at Costco. We needed 2 heaters for our 35' Fleetwood Bounder. Both are thermostat controlled.
If I were to do it over, I'd get 2 of the Lasko heaters and skip the, way too expensive, $90 Pelonis.
I have a small ceramic heater that is plugged into wall outlet in the MH kitchen. It does a great job of keeping my 35.6' Class A comfy and not too hot overnight on those very cold nights. And, the noise is not annoying.
been trying to remember when we had the 24 footer and when we first got this 5th wheel we used a catalytic heater don't know much about them but DH always said they were more efficient than the furnace then he put in a fire place fueled off propane and it's what I use for heat unless I'm out of propane then it's the furnace which I hate! but you might do a search on the catalytic heaters sheila
