New Update on Sprinter

Sharon (Sprinter) is down here in Houston for tests at MD Anderson. Nancy (Birdie) accompanied her and has taken her to appts and run errands. The preliminary diagnosis is a pancoast tumor, a unique form of lung cancer. This tumor invades nerves in the neck and shoulder creating extreme pain. She saw several docs on Thursday, including a pain management doc. They are trying to find a combination of pain meds that keep her comfortable and yet not too nauseated. Everyday is different. Somedays the pain is a 2 or 3' other days more severe.

I drove down on Sat and saw Sharon, Birdie and Vicki B. I went down again today. Sharon is in good spirits and is so appreciative of all the thoughts and prayers sent her way. Pain was at a higher level and energy at a lower level. WE (Birdie, Sharon and I) went to MD Anderson to drop of some CDs with PET scan, etc and to get a RX for anti nausea meds. Then we went to Walmart to do some grocery shopping. I got a speeding ticket driving to Walmart We are shopping for laptop computer as well for Sharon. Hers died a coffee death but you need to be connected to communicate with MD Anderson. All appts, etc are made and communications are through your own private portal!

Next round of appts are this Thurs. Hopefully we'll know more then. Sharon sends her best to all

Red, did you make it down to the coast for the seafood? I sure hope so. Was really hoping Sprinter would get to eat a good meal and keep it down. Sure enjoyed the FaceTalk with all of you this morning. I had another shrimp Po Boy for dinner. Wasn't as good as the one I had a different restaurant the other day. But had to have seafood after talking to you guys this morning. Tell Birdie when you see her, Betty Bird is sticking since Buddy is really a Betty.

Keep us posted on how Sprinter is doing. Anything any of us can do to help, just let us know.

Thank you so much for sharing the update with all of us. We know that we can't all be there with Sprinter in person and quite frankly when there is so much discomfort and pain...not having all of us at her elbow is probably a good thing.....but Sharon, know that we are all around you wrapping you in spirit. Thanks for letting someone keep us in the loop.

Colorado, and I think Washington (?) legalized it for everyone. And in California legal for "medicinal purposes" meaning anyone with a hang nail or headache can legally buy it there!

Sharon, keep thinking positive thoughts as we are doing also!

There are a couple Sharon's. This sprinter is Sharon who lives in Texas. Her rig is on a sprinter chassis, if that helps.

And having met Sharon...if send something positive out into the universe her way, she will find it....she finds positives in this world and reflects them back to those around her everyday..... Thanks for the update. Like all the others said, we're circling the wagons around Sharon in spirit. She must be relieved to FINALLY have a definite diagnosis. the not knowing was driving her crazy.
