...from 32 years of Uncle Sam work!! Just wanted to tell you all that despite their best efforts to kill me with new and better methods of making me crazy, I'm not giving up at work until December. And I've mailed the retirement package as of tonight--even asked for a return receipt (we all know how the Gov'mint can be saying they didnt' receive the package)! Now if I could just Rip Van Winkle for the next five months!

Thanks Joan! I have to ask, is Maggie Mae as "rotten" as the look in that picture of her? That is such a doggie version of a "...go ahead, make my day..." look!!!!

Woo-Hoo. Those five month will pass before you know it, and you and your Foo-Foo will be headed West. The West will never be the same once it sees a Virginia Foo-Foo.
Heck, Li, those 5 months are already over. You've weathered the worst of it. You're going to be so busy getting the house sold, your stuff stuffed into Foo-Foo, and everything else required to hit the road that you'll be wishing for more time.
I'm working hard to not be jealous, though ... sigh. But you've earned it, and I couldn't be happier for you!
Congrats, Li!!!! Yep, you got that "short-timers" view on things and it will go by faster than you realize....good thinking on the "return receipt" with any Gov. agency.....we do it all the time when dealing with the VA.... On your things to do/get list, don't forget your own copy of Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again"..... It's a must have for traveling.....
congrats Li, now you have a different view of Christmas to look forward to, it always seems like Christmas gets here way too fast so I would imagine when you lump that fact up with Retirement, it will go super fast! I'm so jealous but I'm so happy for you!
Yippppeeeeeeeeeee Li - Your retirement day will be here before you know it - then you won't know how you ever had time to work. LOL Just think of all the enjoyment is ahead.
Can you tell we're all excited for you? Now if someone will fall in love with your townhouse, you can hook up to all those roots and pull them out of the ground as you drive away singing 'On the Road again'! That is when the big ear to ear smile crossed your face. Let us all know the date of your departure...you might have flags waving as you drive through taking the back roads of course

Rotten???? No way. That is her timid "What are you pointing that thing at me for?" look. She was used for breeding her first nine years and lived in a kennel. When I "rescued" her she was extremely timid; unaccustomed to normal everyday noise and events. In the beginning, she wouldn't even take a treat from my hand. I've had her just over a year and she's come a long way but even today she is leery of many things. She is now very sweet and lovable with me but it took a lot of patience to get there.
Yippee, Li - those 5 months are going to fly. And they'll fly even faster cuz we'll party with you in Sept here in PA and have you sooooooooo ready for the road Can't wait till you are "free".

YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!! Now, if you can just keep that HUGH smile off you face while doing all that work they still throw at you. You and your FOO FOO will be on the road in no time. Congrats. Linda
