Hi everybody, just got home from a short camping to Aloha State Park about 50 miles north of me. This trip was fantastic as I was parked about 25 feet from the waters edge. The park is on Mullet Lake, a 10 mile long, 4 mile wide, 17,360 acre lake, the 3rd largest inland lake in Michigan and part of the 42 mile Inland waterway consisting of a series of connecting lakes and rivers running ffrom the western side of the state into Lake Huron. The park itself is 107 acres with 287 sites, boat launch, boat harbor area, playgrounds, day use area etc. Lots of roads etc., to walk on. I want to go back. TOMRROW!!!
Here are the pics:
The view out my door was ever changing:
The Happy Campers and they even got to go wading. Well, a couple of them did:
The walking pier and a shot of the campground plus some logs on the bottom of the lake which I think may have been left from old logging days. There are a lot of logs on lake bottoms left from when Michigan was logged. And some shots of the campground:
The Day Use area and a shot of Mullet Lake:
Dinner anyone? BBQ T-Bone steak, cottage cheese, garlic potatoes preceeded by a tossed salad:
I built my lakeside campfire while Mother Nature set the sky on fire:
As to the furbabies at days end, well.....
