Sounds like it should sell fairly quickly. That's good news. The housing market is tanked here. Every home in my subdivision that had a realtor for sale sign, now has a For Rent instead.
Glad you are moving forward with your life and hope the changes are all happy ones!

Last spring I didn't put it on the market because my roomie's son had committed suicide and she was a chocolate mess. Her best friend just committed suicide a couple of weeks ago and she's all confectionary again. It's stirring up the stuff from her son's suicide a year and a half ago.

To soften the blow, I have a good friend who is willing to rent her large, lovely basement to roomie, so I am feeling less guilty about this. I drove back to Salt Lake City tonight and will tell her tomorrow of my plan & my friend's generous offer. AND that my friend has cable. That's the 5-letter word that will make roomie's eyes light up with delight. (She's a BIG sports fan & die-hard Michigan State fan.) Then I'll help her pack and move.

The timing sucks, but I'm not willing to delay this for another year.

It's the decision-making that's the most difficult, Janice----the rest of making an important move is just logistics and time. Congratulations on getting things sorted out in your mind-----I can't wait to hear what will come next for you!

Well, I did it. I told roomie tonight that I'm selling the house and she took it really well. I was the one who was a basket case. Silly ...

Went to lunch with my son today. For the past two days I've had low-level nausea and pain in what felt like my kidneys. While we were in the line to pick up lunch, son suggested that it might be due to stress. That stopped me in my tracks. When my ex husband and I separated, I threw up all night. When my mother died, I threw up two nights in a row. Nausea has always been my illegitimate expression of grief.

For me to be having belly problems while being too cowardly to talk to roomie ... that made sense. And as soon as I realized that, my belly felt better. Although I bawled all over Carol tonight, physically I'm feeling just fine right now.

Now the real work begins ...

We all have different ways we cope w/ stress. I think mine is sleeplesness. I lie awake at night working out plans in my head until i'm exausted. Then sleep late. Thank GOD for retirement.

After reading your posts for the last several years, I kind of know what you're going thru and wish you all the best, Janice. It's gonna be hard letting go of that house even tho you've never been able to make it your own no matter what you did to it. Maybe this is a way of letting go of a little bit of the past for you. Just don't stress to much over the decision. Put the sign up and walk away. Big big hugs going out to you!

I'm the queen of change :? I'm all about living in the moment and looking forward and not back. I left my dream job to RV with my ex and after we sold everything and went full time, we got divorced  I decided to buy a used RV and continue the vagabond lifestyle. I am somehow surviving (with the moral support of the girls here) and making workamping my new profession  I like to say "it could always be worse!" Read my signature..."When life throws you a curve, lean into it!" Lean girl, lean!!!
