Sorry I don't mean to hijack the original thread (even though it might have happened before) Sparkle, I lived in Kingsville for many years and lived at Port A and Corpus in my teens and 20's...where is the Night Hawk? Inquiriing minds want to remember.

By the way, I never laughed so had as your beach pictures in Corpus...I spent a lot of time on that beach...and it is a beautiful place...

I've been in Port A since April and am staying till next April - love it here. Will come back. I haven't been but to a couple bars in CC - do my bar time here in Port A- probably more than I should admit to. Although that doesn't necessarily mean I'm doing as much drinking as people assume from spending time in bars. Heading to one tonight - where they'll cook the steak I bring and I'll play Texas Hold 'Em poker - now if only I could WIN.

I really don't think my thread was hijacked because it FELT (notice the past tense - it's important) like I was prostituting myself at Amazon. I drove up to Wichita this weekend to visit a a friend I hadn't seen since high school - uh, a little more than 40 years or so. During the 130 mile drive, I considered the job from Hell--and decided it was definitely NOT what I started workamping for. Of course, my good little Sugar Daddy, Uncle Sam, has been very helpful with the decision to quit the place tomorrow. I could find all kinds of reasons to stay, but the important one, my mental and physical well-being, trumps all the rest. So, I'll stick around here for a few more days to finish the RV flag I'm making for one of my friends here, then find an RV park somewhere in Oklahoma. Lou will be flying into Tulsa for my birthday early next month, so I'll start heading back towards California after that, hopefully making it in time to have Christmas with my mom and various friends.

If anyone wants to work for Amazon, I think Express Personnel is still hiring.

I will live a lot longer now, Sparkle, they say a good belly laugh will add years to your life, I must have just gained 10 years, talk about unexpected twist in the conversation. It was great !!! Sure glad I had already finished my coffee, would have choked ha,ha. This forum is the best place to go when you need a lift, a laugh or to know you aren't the only one maybe not having the best of days. My day has been good, but you just added a bonus.

Wholly crap Chris! The only way I would do that job was on rollar skates!! Better yet a Segway!! I could get the order quick with a Segway but not on foot ....O-U-C-H!!! I thought slavery was over? Guess I better be nice to people when I order something over the phone. Glad you realize that was WORK and no fun!!
I myself am debating on a Christmas job so I can get my beautiful patio & Pergola put in faster. After the trip to Alaska/Mexico and building the casita ALL in the same year our funds are getting pretty stretched this year.

I hate that word WORK and even Dan has not had any students ( RV drivers training) to teach yet.

Dennis Hill just alerted Dan that he has him on the program but he had better send Dan the paperwork because we don't have it.
