Weekend in Louisville, KY

I am going on a business trip the first week in October, and will most likely have to spend the weekend there. (I could fly or drive home, but it is just not worth it, so will probably just stay there.) I am going to be there the whole previous week and Mon-Wed the following week. Trust me it will not be a fun trip because I will be sitting in a factory classroom observing and taking notes 8-10 hours a day. Hope the air conditioning is working!

Anyway, I started to do research on what to do to entertain myself in Louisville over a weekend and thought of all of you very well traveled ladies.

Any suggestions on sites, museums, attractions within a couple of hours of Louisville? I will be staying near the airport, but will be driving in from Detroit, not flying, so I will have a car.
