Hi Joan,
I was very intrigued with that contraption too! It does look easy as opposed to the winch kind and loading the kayak on your roof. The rack looks somewhat like my bike rack and wonder if the owner did modifiction to one of those. I was able to find these two links with info and pics. I'll search around to see if I can find more info.

I'm seeing more and more rver's giving up the hard kayaks for the inflatables. Then there are those die-hards that have to keep the hardsided. I'll stick with the inflatables. Also for ease of transport to where they go in the water. But that's just me.
