River trip PIX

I finally got some pictures from the Payette river trip. You won't see monster rapids, unfortunately.

Here is the paddleboat. I'm the one in the bright yellow vest (and the birth control hat). They're called that because they are SO unattractive that there is NO way ....
Image

Boating is an equipment-intensive sport. The little grey boat on top right is my duckie, slightly deflated.
Image

We were in "ramming" mode here ... after being assaulted by water guns from the other raft. The woman just opposite me in the back is the one who got washed out in Howard's Plunge.

This was part of our camp.

And these are our intrepid duckie-ers. The woman in front is Cassie -- and she was my river angel. She pulled me out of the rapid then out of the water and delivered me to shore -- and the paddleboat into which I gratefully climbed.

Everyone looks happy to be there. Was that "before" the dunkings or after?

Yeah, I see what you mean about the hat! Looks like everyone is smiling, so that's a good thing. Guess no one took pictures when you were screaming!

The pictures were "in between" rapids. We were all a little too busy to take pictures before the rapids, during  and while picking up bodies afterward.

And yes, that hat is a pip, isn't it? But it keeps the sun off my face.

What great pics!! I am not so sure I would like fast-water paddling and/or rafting. When I used to canoe in fast spring runoff water in our local rivers, that always seemed way fast enough for me! But the camping and going down the river when calm I would love. Thanks for sharing!
