Heading back to Home Base Campground in the Morning

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:23 pm

Well, gang...we're done here....Heading back to the Woods in the morning....Everything went well....lots of stories, tears, and laughter....saw cousins I haven't seen in a very long, long time....It was a beautiful day today, as we said our last good-bye to Mom....warm and sunny....you'll like this....BIL and DB got the haying done around the cemetery and mowed the cemetery lawn all in about a day and a half...just cause the Pastor was worried where everyone would park....lol...needless to say, everything was "spruced up".....we had a "family reunion" type of picnic after at the farm house.....lots of food, more laughter, and talking.....I am exhausted tonight....and have the 5er to pack up and get ready to go in the morning....but, you know what....it will all wait until the morning....

Thank you all for your love and support....Okay, I'm off to bed.....

I'm so glad you got to see everyone and tell the stories and hug and cry and laugh. I keep meaning to go past a yard here and write down something on a stone there that I fell in love with. To paraphrase it says something like: When you lose someone they are no longer where they were before, now they are with you always.

Hugs to you, my friend.

Glad it went well, Lori and you were able to share all those memories as well as catch up with the family. Don't feel rushed-that park will still be there, whenever you arrive. carold

Unfortunately, funerals are sometimes the only times that family gets together in this day and age. Seems that way with my family anyways. I sure wish I could have gone back for my cousins funeral last weekend.

Make sure you get plenty of sleep and don't push yourself too much this week. The emotional stress of it all can really take it's toll on you without you realizing it right away (actually, it usually doesn't hit fully until after the funeral).
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I love this, Beth-----and how very true it is. No more goodbyes after that final one, as they are now forever in our minds and memories. No more traveling to see them. I need to make a poster for my wall of these words. Thanks for posting these.
