Herschel and I have been having trouble getting PB to cooperate and accept his pictures. Finally got some to upload earlier today.
After leaving Bethers' LIW we did manage to make it to Annapolis and find a beautiful parking spot in the cousin's driveway. This is not the average driveway. This cousin and his wife have done very well but the neat part was that he learned hospitality skills from his mom and dad (my Aunt and Uncle) and my Aunt was one of my role models for learning that people were always more important than things. She taught her children well.
These were just the snacks...
This is a pic of 5 of the 6 remaining siblings....
and some of their significant others, children and grandchildren.....
Herschel and Remi thought of the front lawn as their private dog park....
Even Remi was able to run off leash and appreciated the lushness of the lawn.
The view of the back of the house standing at the gate that leads down to the dock and the water. The Short Bus is tucked over on the right.
the walk down to the dock.
Looking up towards the Chesapeake Bay
I took the kayak out one morning and got to paddle around the docks. I kept thinking of Liz and her sailing club. She would have known the name of the boats I was seeing.
Herschel and Remi also took a walk down the road towards the point. This lane had a FOR SALE sign in front but it is beyond our retirement budget.
And this lane just invites a sense of story......
I was told that Annapolis was a very dog friendly town so Herschel came with me when I drove in to sight see. It is one way to be sure that you can't spend money in shops.
It was hot and both Herschel and I decided that we did not need to walk too much in the heat. The stores are very supportive of their canine customers. Many left water and treats out.
"Look, look! Can I have some?"
"Bah, hum bug!" Silly food allergies......." "Thanks for the water, anyway!"
Dogs or Ponies? Look at the size of those paws....
Walking around I found some of the smaller structures more interesting. The narrow streets and row houses tight against each other..... I could see the horses and small carriages passing through time.
Herschel was worried that I was thinking of taking him sailing. He only tolerates kayaking....
And if you wander the side street/neighborhoods on the way into town.....not a bad view.
And my cousin had to take his toy out of the garage to make room for the food tables.....
