The racks are also for when you use microwave in it - to microwave you need things off the bottom (in a micro-convection). Things don't work quite the same in a "just" convection or "just" micro - and some of the rv micro-convections don't work quite the same as home ones. My turntable turns during convection cooking and can't be turned off, for example. Hasn't hurt anything I've cooked - so far.

Do you microwave popcorn? That's how I discovered it. Never worked right without the rack. Then I discovered a site online that talked about it - and now I raise everything I cook in the microwave. Didn't need to do that in the old micro only unit. Seems to cook things faster if raised. Don't need to do it with my egg cooker - good thing, as it won't fit on the rack

I cook popcorn all the time here without the rack...it comes out great LOL I must be blessed.
YUP I am going to dig out the book and read it.....usually only read those darn things when something goes wrong...ya would think I had a few "male" genes lurking about here.
