Kathy, you should be journaling and then you could put some of your photos and sell a 'coffee table book'. You write really really well and your photos are breath-taking.

I know there are times that I feel like people look at me and 'wonder what that old woman is doing here?'. But you know I have lots of folks talk with me about being a solo full-timer and they don't talk to me like I am an old woman. Or perhaps I am not perceiving that is their image.

But then I am thinking that I am a young woman with a lot of knowledge, experience and fun cloaked in an older woman's persona. I know one day I'll break that persona and be my other self again. Just saying...... Where'd the time get to?

ps...don't worry about the weight limits on the zipline.....they let me go!    The young man serving as the "catcher/greeter" on the platforms did change his catches depending upon who was coming down the line. The "sender" had codes so that he knew what size and weight to prepare for. He also would clear us back farther knowing the landing would take more space.

Well, I like to think that at least we are smart enough to stay out of the river. After spending 4 days on the orthopedic floor of a hospital with my DH I will think hard about doing things that might break a hip or damage a knee. He had double knee replacement due to years of wear and horse accidents. Right now he thinks he was crazy to do it but so hope it is worth it to him.

Oh, you made this "old woman" want to pull out her boat and go paddle the river again. I only stopped about four years ago, and I know paddlers much older than me.

You just have to use good judgment ... as the saying goes, "There are old boaters and bold boaters, but there are no old, bold boaters." Maybe the judgment is the result of having survived the river's natural selection.

Kathy, how did you get your mind-reading powers??!! I had better keep my thoughts quiet whilst I write on here, as you can apparently read them! You are an excellent writer, and I hope to see tons more of your posts! I have concluded that, although I see my mother now in the mirror, the young Susan is still inside that reflection. I only wish, as you mentioned, that others could still see the head-turning facade that Susan used to sport! But the facade of today can still perform as that facade of yesteryear, give or take a bit of flexibility and strength!

Thanks for this thought-provoking past!
